We stayed at Boscundle Manor for two nights earlier this week. Well what a fabulous place!!
Stepping through the elegant front door we were greeted by Ian, he couldn't of done anymore to make us feel welcome. He explained everything in a friendly, welcoming manner & gave us a mini guided tour of the facilities & hotel.
We were offered a complimentory owners upgrade to Emily, a room beautifully decorated & spotlessly clean. Could of stood in the rain shower all day!
We ate in the restaurant the 1st evening & were completly blown away by the service & the food! Andy was our host, what a credit to the hotel he is. Professional yet friendly, very attentive without being overbearing. Andy also looked after us for breakfast both mornings & again simply excellent in his manner. Now onto the food....well....simply brilliant! I understand Alex was the chef cooking our evening meal & I have to say this young man is a true talent & a credit to the head chef & hotel management! Everything we ate (even the ham sandwiches!) the entire time we were there was faultless & makes our mouths water just thinking about it! If you are in the nearby area please make an effort to eat in the restaurant...a true delight & not to be missed!
Thankyou to all involved during our stay & we will certainly be back...we loved it!!!

We stayed at Boscundle Manor for 3 nights over the October half term. I cannot praise the hotel highly enough.

We intended to have Fish and Chips and Pasties on the seafront during our stay, but the food was SO good we were compelled to eat with Boscundle every night of our stay! One evening I had 2 starters instead of a starter and a main as the menu looked too good to miss out on! Wonderful service - the staff couldn't do enough.

The facilities were great and decor was beautiful and individual in each room. The things my husband and I appreciated most, though, were the little touches. Clearly Boscundle Manor means a lot to the owners as it has a great many little trinkets and collectors items around which gave the impression of the owners shopping for and aquiring pretty little homewares on shopping trips around Cornwall.

We feel thankful to have stayed in such a lovely place - the staff couldn't do enough for us. Well worth the money.

Room Tip: We have seen inside both 'Charlotte' (the garden suite) and 'Emily' (inside the hote...

As a man of no taste the intensely accessorised style of this hotel felt fussy. I don't like fur trimmed lampshades. It is clearly a number of buildings joined up by narrow [and sometimes low-doored] passages. The bedrooms for my elderly mother was very nice, mine was rather small & dark but cheaper. Neither of the en-suite bathrooms were to the same standard as the bedrooms.
On the plus side, the staff were really warm & friendly and the breakfast was of good quality.

Last weekend I took 16 of my work colleagues to Boscundle Manor for a house party. We spent two nights at Boscundle and had a celebratory dinner there on our second night. Ian - the hotel manager - and his team looked after us superbly - from hosting a delicous afternoon tea in the garden, to changing our room requirements at the last minute, to orhestrating our fine dining dinner party and for remembering everyone's preferred drink as they approached the bar.
St Austell is a lovely setting for exploration and the Boscundle Manor is a comfortable and luxurious base for your stay.
Many of us have plans to stay there again when we next return to Cornwall.
Enjoy!

We stayed here for 4 nights. We booked a standard room but on arrival were upgraded to a deluxe, which was great. The hotel is in a lovely setting, from it you have easy access to the main roads in the area so it is perfect to use as a base for exploring, but the grounds of the hotel itself are quiet and secluded. The hotel is nicely decorated and the lounge and bar are lovely.

Our room (Louisa) was a good size and very clean, and we slept very well. The only things that would have made it better would be better pressure in the shower, and more drawer space for clothes (I suspect that many guests stay one or two nights and it would be fine for that, but we were staying 4 days out of a week's trip around Cornwall, and did have to live out of our suitcase a bit).

We did make use of the pool, which is small but perfectly formed, and again, very clean.

The service was excellent - friendly and professional without being overbearing. The owners and staff were happy to chat or give advice on the local area if you wanted it, but left you to your own devices if not.

We ate in the restaurant one evening, the food and service was good (the staff seemed to be dealing with a variety of specific dietary requirements without any problems). The ambience was a little flat though, probably to do with the size of the room. We didn't really feel we could have a conversation without other guests hearing - but it was a quiet night midweek. The welcome pack in the room gave a number of other local recommendations for eating out, I thought it was a nice touch to acknowledge that you would probably not want to eat in the hotel every evening. We did not have a need for it, but I noticed that (with notice) the hotel does an early evening children's tea, I thought this was a great idea, and the menu looked a cut above the usual chicken nuggets.

Breakfast was good and included lots of local produce. Service was on occasion slow though, particulary for cooked breakfasts - it seemed that the kitchen could only process one order at a time. But if you are on holiday you are not generally in a rush. Breakfast was served in the conservatory, which was a very pleasant place to sit and start your day.

If I return to the St Austell area I would stay at Boscundle Manor again without hestitation, and would certainly recommend the hotel to others.

Boscundle Manor is a lovely place with a huge potential but some minors.

The reception was very fiendly and professional. We were shown round the place and everything was explained in detail.

The dining room, bar, garden etc... are just perfect.

Only our room (Daphne) was a bit less. Our room, in fact three seperate rooms which gives a feeling of a lot of space was well furnished and tastefully decorated. However, the walls needs some new paint and the windows need double glazing. If not for ecological reasons then at least to stop the mold on the wood of the windows. They are clean no doubt but it does not look that way.

The bathroom is, different to the rest of the room, dated. Mold round the edges of the shower door, the panels round the bath have drawn water. But most of all, I hate wall to wall carpet in a bathroom. I dare not think of the number of male users that have, from time to time, missed the toilet and wet the carpet. No way this can be cleaned.

The other thing with this room in particular was the noise of the kitchen below. When the fans or the hoods were used during diner and breakfast the noise was loud enough to wake someone up or keep someone from sleeping. We did mention this as we checked out and we were told that this would be taken care off immediately which, no doubt, will have been done.

Talking about food and drink, nothing bad can be said about the hotel. Diner was fabulous, as was breakfast. The bar is very cosey and well stocked. Service is done with a smile.

Pressed for time we did not use the other facilities but having had a quick look at them, they would have fulfilled our demands.

If this bathroom could be brought to the today's standards this hotel would be perfect.

Stayed for just one night to visit the Eden Project, wish we had stayed longer.
Superb Hotel, tastefully furnished, surroundings very relaxing and tranquil.
Staff helpful, friendly and professional. Dinner enjoyable and presentation perfect.
Didn't use the Pool, Hot tub nor Spa Facilities, but all looked very inviting. Will definitely return.
