“Third Visit.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 20, 2013

This was our third stay at Bosinver and each time we have selected a different property. This time we stayed in Higher Hill which is an upside down house. The bedrooms are all large and the bathroom fittings looked brand new. Upstairs is open plan and very spacious. There were four of us staying but my sister and family popped over and all nine of us were comfortable. All of Bosinver's properties are clean and feel fresh and well decorated. There are plenty of activities for small people from the slide and zip wire to the trampoline, outdoor play areas, play barn and of course the animals. Bosinver is well worth the money.

Our 10th visit to Bosinver and this time we stayed in Pentree. What a bright spacious cottage, perfect for small children all on one level and with its own washing machine. As with all the properties here (this is the 7th one we have stayed in) they are all spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished, Pat spends a lot of time and care making sure each one is perfect.

A box of toys in each cottage is a welcome distraction for the children when trying to unpack the car after a long journey, lovely scones, cream, jam and milk welcomes you on arrival. There is much to do on site, zip wire, tube slide, woodland walk, play areas, soft play, games room and an indoor pool to be completed in the next few months.

Our boys, 8,8 and 2 love meeting Farmer Dave and Helen for daily animal feeding, and pony rides once a week are always a hit. The Wild Kids club with Tatum is fantastic, our older boys loved building fires and toasting marshmallows in the woods.

We always vist Trebah gardens near Falmouth and hire bikes from Bridge Cycle hire in Wadebridge and cycle to Padstow, Rick Stein's fish and chips after the bike ride always a welcome treat.

We love Bosinver it's a magical place where all the staff are so friendly and helpful, we are already looking forward to our 11th stay in the summer. Bosinver is a great place to stay all year round, we particularly like Easter in Cornwall, with the addition of the indoor pool it's going to be even harder to leave the site.

You're always a little sceptical about self catering holidays until you arrive and see that the photos and reviews are correct.... And yes they were.

What a lovely family holiday.

Dave and Helen are always on hand to help with anything and the facilities are fantastic.

We stayed in trerose which slept 5 in 3 bedrooms and had an open plan sitting/dining/kitchen and was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. All of the facilities in the house were brilliant and Dave is welcomes suggestions as to how to better things.

The children enjoyed the play barn (again excellently put together and spotless) and feeding the sheep and hens in the mornings was lovely.

Wild kids was the highlight of the older two children's week and Tatum was lovely with them, teaching them how to make fires safely and responsibly in the outdoors.

The addition of an indoor pool is well underway and I'm sure will be a big attraction especially in the winter months.

We will definitely be back and more than likely be bringing people with us!

Higher Hill has the appearance of an old Chapel built years ago, nestling on the side of a hill at the bottom of the lane. Having been to Bosinver before, this was our first time in Higher Hill, and it has been fantastic.

The cottage is equipped with everything we could have needed, and as before, Farmer Dave, Pat & Helen have been wonderful. At 10yr's old, the boys have loved the freedom of being able to roam around the grounds in complete safety, enjoying the games room, trampoline and adventure playground.

Wild Kid's Club with Taitum (also know as Spud) on the Tuesday was a highlight, spending time in the woods learning how to make fires, and toasting marshmallows - not sure who enjoyed it more, the kids or the dad's!

And as always, getting up to feed the Chickens, Ducks, Sheep & Goats on a morning was a complete hit, as we're the eggs we collected for breakfast each day.

We went out to local beaches (Goran Haven, Portholland & Caerhays) which were fantastic, Falmouth for fish and chips at Rick Stiens, and swimming at Pentewan Sands.

And as a added bonus, Wifi is now available in the cottage's, and by the time we come back again (we will be coming back), there will be an indoor pool at Bosinver. Not sure we would need to leave the site!

Brilliant holiday, great for families, and amazing fun.

Room Tip: Higher Hill as the boys describe it, it's an "upside-down house" which means you get t...

My young family and I have stayed at Bosinver on 4 separate locations - all different properties. My general experience has been quite positive and the accommodation was really beautiful however was a little marred by one of the owners who isn't as forthcoming as the other. Like I said though this is through my own personal experience and overall it is very good esp with young children as the farm has little pony rides and animals on site.

This time we treated ourselves to a few winter nights in Lowen. This 'cottage' is amazing, beautifully designed, light and with lovely views across open fields. Great to know that it's fuelled by solar energy and the heat of the ground, the underfloor heating keeps a lovely temperature! It's a large place, but felt very cosy, even for the three of us. Didn't leave the farm this time but enjoyed lovely winter walks in the surrounding woods, the playbarn and, of course, the morning animal feeding and egg collecting with farmer Dave. Thanks once again for a great time, we are sure we will be back for more!

We've just returned from spending a brilliant Christmas week at Lowen. The quality of this accommodation is superb, the house definitely has the wow factor. Despite being a modern building, it is still homely and warm (especially with the wood burner lit). The hot tub was great - being able to sit in it, enjoying a glass of bubbly on an evening whilst looking up at the stars was fantastic (even if it was the middle of winter) The welcome that we got from Farmer Dave and Helen was fantastic - you really felt that they cared about the quality of your stay. For the children, feeding the animals was great fun, even if they had to suffer some Christmas cracker jokes from Farmer Dave first! They also enjoyed the pony riding, Helen was brilliant with my slightly nervous son who had never ridden before. The kids also loved bringing an egg home to have for the next days breakfast. We can't wait to go back.
