We've just returned from our eighth holiday at Bosinver. It really is a very special place, beautiful surroundings, staff that go out of their way, lovely accomodation and so much for the children to do whatever the weather.
We have stayed in several of the cottages over the years and have enjoyed every one, they are all unique, but our two favourite are Hydrangea (next to the new Lowen), and Buddleia situated next to Hydrangea. We love the view across the fields and watching the Buzzards,Owls, Bats and Rabbits.
I can't help but refer to a previous negative review on Lowen's situation, re:traffic noise.
For the past few years we have alternated between Hydrangea and Buddleia, and the subject of noise has never entered our heads. We often sit outside at night, watching the stars, and it is so still and peaceful.
The friends we have made and everyone that has ever stayed at Bosinver really appreciate the hard work and commitment that goes into making the place very special.

Bosinver is an amazing place to go on holiday. We have just returned from our fourth consecutive summer holiday there and would not think twice about returning again. The staff provide a very friendly welcome and contribute to the holiday in many ways through all the activites on offer, Farmer Dave being quite a celebrity amongst the children with the daily animal feeding. We have stayed in 3 different cottages - our preference being the cottages up at the top of the site. Despite the bad review on this site of Lowen the Eco house re noise, our preference has been the cottages in that very location as we love the view across the beautiful meadow right in front of them and the fact that we can literally roll out of bed into the great playbarn with very little effort and everyone is happy - the kids can have fun and we can wake up slowly! We have certainly not had a problem with the road noise there and our own home has very little passing traffic so are used to quiet - my husband is a very light sleeper and would be the first to have no sleep if it were bad - however, this is not the case in our experience. Whilst there this year, we were amongst 6 other families who have been there at least once before (we all go there for the same weeks so recognise each other!!) and I think this speaks for itself. We always come back home so relaxed - it really is a wonderful place.

Our second trip to Bosinver - the first time we have ever returned anywhere - always thought it was lame to go back to the same place but we had such an amazing time the previous year and with two children aged 6 & 2 - seemed a no brainer. Had a brilliant week - stayed in Apple which was just big enough for the 4 of us, very clean with all facilities you would need.
Best of all are the on - site activities for the children - feeding the animals each morning and collecting eggs, pony rides once a week as well as a great session where our 6 year old made a den in the woods and toasted marshmallows on the campfire. The playbarn was grreat when one morning was drizzly and the heated outdor pool great after a long day at the beach,.
Location is great for beaches and key attractions such as Eden Project & Lost Gardens of Heligan.
I would come back again in a shot...

Room Tip: Look at the website - all cottages are very different

We stayed in Lowen and we had a great time.

It's an AMAZING building. Completely carbon neutral. A beatiful space - perfect for a couple of families.

Everything people say about Bosinver farm is right (just check out Mumsnet). The staff are wonderful. The activities brilliant. The standards of customer service and cleanliness exceptional (heck, they even clean most of the poo in the animal-feeding enclosure so they don't offend City folk like us!).

We saw the other review about traffic noise and that wasn't our experience at all.

Go.

Room Tip: Definitely get the master bedroom.... It's like a boutique hotel.

We had a lovely stay in Lowen. The eco house is at the end of a driveway near to a small B road. However, when we slept with our windows open, in the comfortable double room closest to the road, we hardly noticed it. It was less noisy than our village where we have quails, peacocks, donkeys and farm traffic to listen to.
We loved the quirky furniture and found everything to be most comfortable. We were able to go and pick salad crops from the vege plot and they were delicious. We think Bosinver offers excellent value for money.
Pat and Dave were most helpful and welcoming and our children enjoyed all the inclusive, adventure activities around the farm. We relished the experience of living in a low carbon house and would love to implement some of the new technologies at home.

Room Tip: They are all great.

We stayed in the new eco-house Lowen, which is a remarkable building, very comfortable and very well designed. It has beautiful views but it has one enormous problem. It is 40 foot from a main road which has double-decker buses and lorries and 50 metres from the main A390. We live in London, but nothing compares to the traffic noise we had there. We had to close the windows at night so we could sleep.

Saying that the rest of Bonsinver is very well thought through, and is a beautiful relaxing place to stay and I can see why everyone else is so happy. Pat is a bit of stickler for charging for everything extra, but otherwise here husband Dave and the staff are wonderful.

Recommended as long as if you want to stay in Lowen you can put up with the noise.

Room Tip: get a cottage as far down the valley and away from the road as you can.

We are glad you enjoyed the comfort of our eco-house Lowen, but disappointed that you felt that the road noise was a problem. The road you mention is a B road and countless happy satisfied guests have left us glowing reviews of the house without any mention of being bothered by noise whatsoever.

Our visitors' book talks of sumptuous beds and great nights' sleep, and of 800 business feedback forms our cleanliness rating is 98%. 100% of our guests surveyed would recommend us to friends and 70% return to stay with us again. Hopefully these figures and the rest of our reviews on Tripadvisor speak for themselves. Lowen has proved to be our best letting and most popular cottage since this review was written.

Just got home last night from another fantastic week with you all. The cottage was up to the usual excellent standard. We made the most of the pool, let the kids run wild in the woods and stuffed your chickens, ducks, sheep and goats every morning. What more could you ask for from a holiday???

Room Tip: Book early!!
