An unusual restaurant in an unusual location - a parade of shops! But don't be put of this is a seriously great restaurant - the food was very imaginative, presented beautifully and quite different courses ordered by four people arrived simultaneously! Service was impeccable and when there was some delay in our main course arriving there was a bottle of wine on the house in apology! In all, I cannot fault Austell's and if I'm in the area I'll certainly go again.

Simply amazing-the food and service are both superb, we've been twice in the last month. Once for a birthday meal as a group of four, and once for our anniversary. Both times the food was lovely and special without being really expensive. The puds are delicious but do be warned because the portions are a good size and the flavours so good you need to pace yourself.

So often you go along to a restaurant that's had good reviews on Tripadviser and frankly it's a bit of a let down. Delighted to say this place lives up to its reputation - we went as a couple for lunch on Mothering Sunday, restaurant full, bubbly without being loud, food and service thoughtful without being pretentious. We pushed the boat out, two faultless Plymouth G&Ts, delicious bottle of white Rioja from the middle of the wine list, starters, mains, one pud, one cheeseboard, coffee and tip just under £100. That's about two thirds of what it costs round here (Oxford) and you'd be lucky if it was such an all-round pleasure.

First visit to this restaurant, strictly based on the great reviews on TripAdvisor. And what a place!
Great food based on locally sourced specialities with a nice twist. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great value for money as well. Overall, everything contributed to make this a great night to remember.

I cannot recommend Austell's enough. The food and sevice were absolutely superb - the lamb dish is definitely the best thing I have ever tasted. It was my sister's birthday and she was made to feel really special. We are local and I can't believe we've never been before - we will defintely be going back!
