What an absolute delight! And that’s from someone with a lactose, wheat and sugar intolerance so I’m no easy customer. From the moment the staff took my reservation they were willing to help and adapted the menu to suit my needs. Brett, the chef (and part-owner) happily chatted to us between courses, checking that the food was ok and giving us tips on how to recreate the dishes back home. The portions were generous and the quality of the food was absolutely out of this world. I’ve never known leeks and mushrooms to have so much flavour!! We’re looking for another excuse to make the 5 hour drive to Cornwall just so that we can go back to Austell’s. Food aside, the attentiveness of the staff was second to none and Emma really made sure that all of our needs were taken care of. We’ve eaten in other establishments in the St Austell’s area but this is the one place that we’d recommend that you go to for a fabulous dining experience.

Visiting St Austell for the weekend we pre-booked a table for dinner at Austell's. Arriving with the aid of SatNav we very nearly turned away when we saw the position of the restaurant - the en of a parade of shops and next to a chinese restaurant and take-away. Good job we didn't. This restaurant fully deserves it's two rosettes - and more. A drink at the bar with a very pleasant conversation about the formula for a perfect martini with the delightful FOH manager, Emma started off the experience beautifully. Shown to our table, we were then presented with a gastronomic delight - four courses of such complexity and flavour combinations we were at once captivated by this wonderful restaurant.

Hidden in a non descript parade of shops in Carlyon Bay is one of the best Restaurants my husband & I have ever been to. Exquisite food, a great selection of wine all finished off with coffee & white chocolate & Cranberry fudge Yum! What made it one of our best dining experiences was the quality of service and friendliness of the staff. We certainly will make a diversion over to Carlyon Bay to visit Austells every time we take a trip to Cornwall.

Another fab visit to Austell's and every bit as wonderful as always. Food, service, atmosphere - my only minor point to raise would be to ask Brett to consider adding a Camel Valley and/or Knightor wine - we've become quite fond of the local stuff and when in Rome....!

We are lucky enough to have a 'normal' table now (!!) my little girls adore overlooking the pass and watching Brett prepare the food and giving them tips - when visiting other restaurants they now like to tell me when a steak hasn't rested for long enough...!

Very much looking forward to our next visit.
