We booked the table for our anniversary and the team did a lovely job decorating the table and making us feel special. We arrived for our 8.30pm booking and were served a free glass of champagne while waiting at the bar to be served. We waited at the bar until 9pm which seemed a little long given our 8.30 reservation but we had a drink and ordered our food at the bar.

Once seated it took another half hour to get served our starters meaning and then another hour to get mains. This means we didn't get our mains until 10.30pm which is far too long given the restaurant had started to clear out and wasn't really busy. This was not acceptable and we didnt want to eat this late in the evening. We skipped desert and coffee as a result and let around 11pm.

The food was very tasty when it arrived and no doubt worth the AA rosetts, we just felt the experience was let down by the amount of time it took to arrive. The staff were all lovely and this is very close to being a top restaurant experience.

I'm so sorry of your experience with us ! Every day we aim to deliver a seamless service without any unhappiness. I can't offer any excuse for the delays as I'm sure I (brett) was the one cooking for you and emma would have been in charge in the restaurant! I can only hope you would try us again and we'd make sure you're not disapponted ..

Once again I'm deeply sorry for your experience with us!

Went here after reading TripAdvisor - really excellent.
Sunday evening Pot Luck is a treat at less than £20.
Service is very friendly, the staff as well as the chefs know their food.
Elegant dining at an affordable price.
Booking recommended.

Visited this restaurant with friends for Sunday lunch. The service was excellent from the moment we walked in the door. The Sunday lunch menu offered a choice of 2 or 3 courses with a selection of 4 different dishes for each course. The food was well served and beutifully presented. We could not fault any of the dishes but the best for us was the roast lamb. We ended the meal with coffee which was served with home made fudge and macaroons. This is a place that deserves to succeed and I sincerly hope it does. The location of the restaurant does not do it justice ( it is located at the end of a row of shops), I have no doubts that if situated in a better location this restaurant would be right up there with the likes of Rick Stein and many other top class establishments.

We recently visited this restaurant for dinner during a short break in Cornwall. The menu was excellent and the quality of the food was also excellent as was the service which was both attentive and efficient. The waitresses explained the menus very well. This was our best meal in Cornwall and I would definitely recommend it.

Had a fantastic meal there last night so many different bits to each dish but all very well thought out and everything was superb the owner and Lisa in the front of house were both kept very busy but did an excellent job as did the chefs, we later found out the head chef was away on holiday but he need not worry as they did an excellent job without him obviously all very well trained. Will definitely be returning next time in the area, well worth booking in advance
