This is a Cornish Tavern close to the Eden Project and with a genuine local flavour. The six rooms are well presented with full facilities and the food is local, fair priced and individually cooked to order. local St Austell beer and a friendly atmosphere.

Do not come here if you like the one size fits all of a travel lodge or if you only wish to meet holiday makers or if you are too fussy about seeing a large friendly house dog. If you wish to keep away from friendly locals and a little noise from the traffic outside or must have air com ..do not come here. This is well priced and a real genuinebCkrnish experience I would recommend

Room Tip: If you are a very light sleeper ...ask for the back room.

Myself and a mate were doing a road trip around Devon and Cornwall on Quad bikes 710 miles round trip, I had booked accommodation for the trip and came across theBugle Inn. What a great choice. From the moment we arrived, we were greated by Keith, who made us welcome among the staff were Fran, Vicky along with Keith on Bar, while Chris the north Welshman and Colin were in the Kitchen. The landlord and Landlady were perfect hosts. What can I say about the regulars - great welcome as if we were locals ourselves. Good food and portion sizes. Rooms clean and comfortable - worth a stay

We were greeted by very friendly staff, who showed us to our room which was well furnished for our requirements. Our evening meal was well cooked and there was plenty of it, the menu was an excellent variation, catering for all tastes.

Room was shabby, dark and cramped. Music blasting out from the bar meant little / no sleep until 11.30 ish. Window wouldn't close and noise from traffic meant a sleepless night. Very convenient for the Eden project but other than that wouldn't recommend staying here.

Room Tip: Room 1 seemed to be directly above the speakers. Avoid if you can !!

We stayed here for one night. The room was clean and tidy although it does need a little updating.

We ate in the bar for our evening meal the food was really good. There was also a good choice of St Austell beers. Breakfast was of the same quality.

The staff were all friendly and helpful.

Friendly welcome and attentive breakfast service. Bar opens until midnight so expect some background noise from that and the traffic on a busy crossroad junction.
Rooms are clean and comfortable but have dated appearance, some with cramped but adequate bathrooms.
Overall its a convenient stop for Eden etc but at £70 night the national chains can beat the price and rooms but not the personal warm attention!

Room Tip: Not room 3

The Bugle Inn definitely ticked all the right boxes for us. Our room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The pub is friendly, with 4 very well-kept beers and two friendly dogs. The breakfast is very good; we also ate there in the evenings and can recommend the fisherman's pie and chips highly!

It's a really convenient base for the Eden Project too. As the previous reviewer said, it is NOT a hotel nor claims to be. If you want room service etc and don't want any pub noise (although it really wasn't that noisy!) then you've booked the wrong place. But if you want a relaxed base with good food and beer on tap then you couldn't do much better!
