Very friendly hotel for a few days break. Reasonable room although the electric shower was a bit feeble.
Good food in the bar where we and the dog were made to feel welcome - there were usually at least 4 dogs including the hotel's lab with a 'Please don't feed me' collar!
Location is very central in the village although traffic can be a bit noisy & it is a long walk back up from the beach.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back may be quieter

We come here a lot for Sunday lunch.

The standard is always excellent and there's always a choice of meats + a vegetarian option.

As this is a pub there's an option of eating in the bar or the restaurant area.

Prices are as you would expect and they offer a standard size plus a smaller adult and a child's size.

Well worth a visit.

Very warm welcome by all the staff. The food was hot and delicious. I was very surprised to have an excellent cheeseboard and a very fine port to finish a superb Sunday Lunch. Food was cooked just like having a Sunday Lunch at home. Thank you for a very enjoyable lunchtime. We will be back for more!!

Stayed here for one night a while ago & as observed elsewhere it's not actually a hotel but a pub with a few rooms above it! I went off season so it was pleasantly quiet & had excellent dinner + breakfast the following morning - there was a small buffet with cereal & you could have anything cooked a la carte. What really appealed to me besides the scenery ( old tin mines worth visiting) was the friendliness of the staff & of course the 'locals' in direct contrast to where I live in London. However, in common with London the reservations lady was Eastern European & very efficient as are all the girls who work in almost every restaurant that I've been to in the London area.
There was a small TV in the room so perhaps taking your iPod would be advisable!
I flew down to Newquay with BA who gave up the route a while back & just checked google to see if any airlines fly down there now....or maybe you're happy to drive.
My room was "basic" but comfortable & clean hence my heading - not a Hilton or Sheraton but absolutely fine if passing through.

Room Tip: choose one on the top floor if given a choice & you can take some cool photos of the "High...

We didn't stay here so can't comment on the rooms, but we did have two great evenings in the bar, having a meal one night (the bar food was fine, if not anything special) and then dropping in for a drink on one of the open mic nights, which was highly entertaining. Good beer and a good busy atmosphere

Myself , partner and our children have just returned home from staying here for the long bank holiday , we stayed in the family room it was very clean , comfortable, spacious and quiet . All the staff are very friendly and welcoming and it was very easy to settle in. They have live entertainment which sets a great atmosphere in the evening and is for all the family with no uncouth drunks around. There was a good variety of food and it was all lovely but I would truly recommend the rack of ribs ,they are the best I've ever had . The hotel is situated in a very friendly village , it sits opposite a very beautiful church with lovely views and very close to a beautiful beach, again all the staff are very helpful with telling you the best places to go to . Overall the children and us both had a very relaxing and a very fun time at this hotel which was a lot to do with the very friendly bar staff and the landlord for being so accomodating and we wished we had longer to stay but we will definately be returning , well worth a visit for all the family !!

We called into the St Agnes Hotel a few times for drinks and meals while in St Agnes recently. Very friendly people. The landlord was a bit of character. Beer was very well kept. Had a few nice meals. Busy vibrant and friendly. Located right in the centre of the village with a good size car park at the rear. Needs a little modernising, but maybe that added to the charm.

Room Tip: We didn't stay in the rooms so can't comment on those.
