During a self catering holiday we happened upon Driftwood Spars on a cool windy April day. We have two dogs (well behaved of course!) & we were literally given a warm welcome with lovely comfortable seats close to a blazing log fire. We had a most enjoyable lunch & would certainly go back. Highly recommended.

we arrived in the middle of a typical Cornish downpour, to be welcomed with a blazing log burner and a pint of Cornish rattler. Feeling peckish we chose light dishes from the menu, having coeliac disease we confirmed the dish i chose was safe with the staff who were very helpful. Unfortunately the chef got a little confused and confirmed the dish was safe, however put croutons on it the staff stepped in and took it back, and it was worth the wait it was delicious. Great meal in great surroundings with helpful staff and cracking local characters Would definatley return.

We nipped in here for a light lunch in between showers whilst visitng Trevaunance Cove. This to me is what you envision when you think of a Cornish Inn. Friendly staff, friendly locals. The pub was very cosy and I could easily have imagined many nights supping a pint of two had we being staying locally! The menu was compact but ideal for lunch - good size sarnies and I opted for whitebait ( a starter).

I stayed here for 1 night on a business trip to Cornwall. Great location near sea, great atmosphere in traditional pub with good selection of real ales, and good food selection. Room was very good with view of sea, all at a very competitive price. Above all the staff were very friendly and courteous, they even posted an item that I had left in the room back to me. Couldn't have asked for more. I would not hesitate to stay again.

We stayed in one of the garden rooms slightly away from the main building - slept soundly. Very clean lovely room.
I feel like we've discovered a little gem here, the village is lovely, the hotel is in a cove with gorgeous views.
We were really impressed by the pub, it's got such great atmosphere and character, food was good and one of the nights there was live music.

We will definitely be coming back!

Dirty bed linen, paper thin walls allowing us to hear complete conversations from neighbouring room including their phone vibrating when they receieved messages and loud humming noise intermittently throughout the night resulted in us getting hardly any sleep so only staying the one night instead of two as planned.
