2 day stay to chill out for the weekend, stay in the annex, rooms 14 or 15 to avoid the loud music over a weekend.
Excelent value for what was on offer, food in the evening was superb.
Breckfast can require a pacient client as one day took too long to arrive.
Beer OK but would advise contacting Brendan at Leyden micro brewery, Bury, Lancashire to exchange ideas to get the perfect brew.
I would return again as it is the perfect spot to relax.
Overall a great break.

Room Tip: Go for the annex (Rooms 13, 14 0r 15) so you can get a good nights sleep if staying over the weekend...

Great Hotel. After being let down the night before by another St Agnes B&B we tried the Driftwood. We planned to stay 3 nights with the dog but the staff were so good we stayed another night. Breakfast was great , rooms were clean and quirky and staff could not do enough for us. Location is amazing. Will definately be back. Thanks for everything.

Room Tip: St Agnes bakery do fantastic sausage rolls!

We had our wedding at the Driftwood Spars in September 2011, It was a unique experience. This venue blends together the 'oldy worldy' and the modern. Our whole wedding was held there from start to finish, and as I stayed there the night before, this helped to make it a relaxing experience. We had our ceremony in the Wheal Room and our Florist, 'Petals and Pearls' made the room look stunning. The food is absolutely lovely and our Wedding Breakfast went smoothly with all the meals being served very quickly and efficiently. The staff at the Driftwood were polite and friendly, the rooms were clean and comfortable. Damon the wedding manager went out of his way to ensure the whole day went without a hitch, and the owner Louise was warm and welcoming. In all I would thoroughly recommend this as a venue for its unique charm and relaxed feeling. And the best thing was that I did not have to worry about the weather, as I didnt have to go outside at all!!!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a sea view or with a little more room if you will be needing it.

This hotel doesn't deserve to have 4 stars. A lovely, historical venue but in need of some attention to bring it up to hotel standards.
Even though the building is very old, that is no excuse to not provide a decent nights sleep. The mattresses and pillows were fusty, not the bedding - that was fresh and clean but you could not get away from the must or damp coming from the beds.
The en-suite facilities have been upgraded to new powerful showers, which started off well until the pipes continually whined once the water was running through them.
The fan in the bathroom went on for a long time after the light was switched off, one occasion keeping going for 20 minutes - very loud and not condusive to a good nights sleep.
The door to the room did not fit the doorway, hence a lot of noise coming through the inch gap under the door whenever anyone was in the corridor.
The room was cold and drafts coming through the windows, there was a radiator in the room but this either did not work or the hotel decided not to have the heating on as there was no hot water in the pipes so no option to heat the room.
The roof must have been very thin, hearing the toilet flushing, people 'going' to the toilet, other guests snoring, any light walking around upstairs.
I get that this is an old establishment, however for a 4 star hotel and the price for a room - I expect a good nights sleep. Some money needs to be spent putting some sound insulation in the rooms and bringing them up to standard.
There was also no option to switch the room light off at the side of the bed.
Disappointing service from the staff.
A shame, St Agnes is a lovely village and this hotel has some fantastic views, is well placed for the beach, a great pub below and ample parking for guests. The only reason you stay in a hotel though is to sleep so beware if you do stay here that you may not get much as we didn't.

Stayed for 5 nights from 04/08 along with a number of friends who stayed for less nights meaning a total of 5 rooms booked. Atmosphere and food far better at the St.Agnes Hotel in the village centre. Have stayed in St.Agnes many times and in a great variety of accomodation. The comparable accomodation is the St.Agnes Hotel and would strongly suggest you book there instead.

Room Tip: Stay at the St.Agnes Hotel.

The Driftwood spars is a nice old building in a lovely setting,we've visited many times, but we'll be giving it a miss for a good while now.The staff are friendly enough, but the food service is a waste of time. It's very overpriced for what it is,and arrives late or not at all,and it's poor. The ales are good but again, overpriced.Shame,it's all a bit chaotic.
