We booked this hotel based on the many excellent reviews and we were not disappointed.
The location of the hotel is superb overlooking the sea and having its own private cove.
The welcome by the lady receptionist was friendly and professional. The room, No 11 was bright with nice decor and spotlessly clean. It had its own small terrace with loungers with a view over the sea.The room was not large but adequate . the bathroom was good size with shower over the bath.
The highlight for us and the main reason we booked it was for the Michelin quality food ..and we were not disappointed. The service of the multi- national staff..English head waiter, Spanish barman and Australian and Polish waiters...was excellent. only surpassed by the quality and presentation of the food. It was exceptional! It was not cheap at £300 for DB&B but it was worth every penny! We will return!

Room Tip: Room 11 is on the ground floor on the end and very convenient for off loading luggage

Having had to cancel our weeks holiday to st lucia due to sickness..
My husband and i were distraught, and wanted to salvage the 3 days we had left..
Saw 'driftwood' online, and booked, having never been to cornwall in 30 years, we didnt know the area at all...
We drove down, both very quiet and dispondant, we arrived after a 5 hour drive...
Wow..... What a beautiful sight, the view was just perfect.. We were shown around the hotel, which was warm and cosy, but oozed elegance and charm, the attention to detail, which is so often lacking in even top london hotels, was second to none..
The rooms are the perfect size, and contain everything you need, no minibar or tacky tea n coffee trays in sight... We had room 12 which had a little terrace, with a fantastic view...
Now to the food.... Amazingly tasty, beautifully presented, and served by passionate informative staff.. Def recommend both taster menu's...
Nothing was to much trouble for any staff member,
We couldnt have asked for more, the weather was warm and sunny
Am so glad we found this little bit of heaven.. We will definatley be back...
Thankyou driftwood....

Quiet location high above the sea with amazing views. The outstanding feature of this hotel is the food which was superb at both dinner and breakfast. Service was excellent; friendly, helpful staff. Early morning tea brought to the rooms. Comfortable lounge with log fire. Cornish sparkling wine available by the glass (better than many champagnes). Wine list well thought out with good range of wines at fair prices. Our room was of reasonable size, very clean and with a comfortable bed. There was a private patio with table and two chairs overlooking the sea. There was only room for one small chair and one upright chair in the room itself. The design of the room was such that the chairs did not have a view through the patio window. Fittings in the bathroom were good quality. Shower was over the bath. This was evidently a new block and the builders/fitters needed to do sort a few minor problems. We stayed 4 nights (bed linen was changed after 2 nights)and could easily have stayed another four. A most relaxing and enjoyable stay. Can hardly wait to return.

We fell upon the driftwood on the off chance we made a booking for that evening and asked if they could get us a lobster which you have to order 24hrs in advance, the chef Chris Eden called us later and said he had sent the local fisherman out so hopefully they would be able to get one for me, when we arrived the staff were fantastic they had got me the lobster which was cooked to perfection, the breads were fabulous the starter of lamb and my husband had pigeon were unreal my lobster and my husbands dexter beef with a blade of beef unreal my soufflé and my husband had a dish that the chefs gran used to make all faultless, the wine champagne food and the views of the bay made the whole experience one of the best we have had, so much so we have ordered the chateaubriand for this evening the chef said he will do us Yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes as it's Sunday and that's what we wanted, so accommodating one of the best restaurants we have been too! Love it

Brief one night stay. Food was fantastic. My wife chose the best combination from menu - potato risotto with truffle and then venison. Superbly cooked. Excellent night's rest. Back for dinner in a few weeks time and looking forward.

Room Tip: View great to have. Public rooms let you enjoy the location though so don't worry too much.

We spent a week at the Driftwood Hotel. They gave us an ocean front king room on the third floor, with a balcony. Words cannot describe how great this hotel and location are! Nice clean quiet rooms with awesome views. Surrounded by many blocks of fabulous restaurants, pubs and bars, as well as shopping and sights! Our room looked right onto the

It's difficult to add to the many positive reviews - we spent three days here to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary, and loved it. Relaxed atmosphere, beautifully furnished, very pleasant staff, comfortable throughout, and, of course, truly excellent food, served in an unfussy, generous way. We went out to a pub for some simple food on the middle of our three nights at Driftwood and were glad we did so for the sake of our waistlines, but there are plenty of clifftop walks on the doorstep to work up an appetite, so don't worry! Thoroughly recommended.

Room Tip: Room 10 is light and airy, very spacious and has glorious views, some comfy chairs and a very nice b...
