Great views over the estuary and the lunch was fine but this cuisine is hugely overpriced. The execution and flavour delivery on the two fish dishes sampled was pretty average with a bill for lunch well over a £100.A sudden influx of guests put pressure on staffing and front of house was trying to" manage" the order taking.I am sure the michelin starred restaurant is better but I left with the impression that this venue is trading on Nathan Outlaws reputation without him being at the stoves.

The restaurant overlooks the porthilly estuary and the views and atmosphere is breath taking.

The food is really good too but you have to choose the right dishes. The special for the day was fish soup and we ( my wife and i ) were so glad we chose it. It was a beautiful combination of spicyness and creaminess... Definitely the best fish soup we have ever had !!

Some of the other dishes were a bit bland though... Like the port hilly scallops. The scallops themselves were amazingly fresh but the olive relish that accompanied it was a bit flat. The other dish that dissapointed us slightly was the hake in paprika oil. We were expecting a nice spicy kick from the paprika and that's why we ordered. Similar to the scallops earlier.. The hake itself was deliciously firm and cooked to perfection but the paprika oil was really mild and almost lifeless.

The deserts really rose to save the day. We had the rhubarb jelly with vanilla cream and the earl grey cream, pear & lime sorbet and honeycomb. The tartness of the sorbet combined with the smoky sweetness of the earl grey cream and the crunchy honeycomb made a truly mouth watering bite.

The service was impeccable and overall we had a great time and would definitely visit again to try the other mains on the menu

Just had a fantastic meal, great venue with lovely staff that are friendly and unpretentious - which can be the norm with some higher end dining establishments. Very good value at £120 for 3 courses with wine & coffee for 2. The best meal we have had in a long time - i always think if i couldnt cook it myself its worth paying for! Well worth a visit.

Just had lunch and it was outstandingly good. Small menu with really different ways of presenting food, Mixture of fish and meat - but mainly fish. John dory was fantastic as was the ox cheek. Great service: competent and professional but very friendly too. The views from the restaurant overlook the Camel estuary and are stunning. Well worth a visit wherever you are staying or located in Cornwall.

Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Service exemplary. Food a real delight. Will definitely go back and definitely book up for the tasting menu next time. Still have some of Nathan's lovely cheese bread in my freezer which I'm making last as long as I can.
