“Sit down meal - review by local”
Reviewed June 1, 2013

Went last night with the family and started with Ribs which were served very quickly, wife and daughter had Mushrooms and mother had prawn cocktail. Everyone enjoyed it. Followed by good portion of Chicken chips and as much as you want from the salad bar. Finished off with the grasshopper pie, wife had Tennessee mud pie and daughter Apple crumble - all with Rodda's (who's else). The girls were friendly and attentive, food was good and served very quickly. The Blackberry wine, our favourite, was excellent as always. All in all a very good experience as usual!

“Good fun place to visit”
Reviewed April 26, 2013

My husband I went to the meadery for a date night and it was great. The decor is all olde worlde but doesnt pretend to be something that it isn't

Food is hot, quick and finger licking good.... simple food, served with chips. It is a meadery not a celebrity restaurant.

Make sure you check out the mead... its lovely!

“Nice building”
Reviewed April 15, 2013

The building was great and decorated interestingly with heraldry design.

A noisy, dark, busy place with excitable children.

Staff dressed in costumes which were ill fitting an unflattering.

Food very processed and disappointing.

Probably ok for families with young children.

“Great and a must”
Reviewed March 30, 2013 via mobile

Had a takeaway tonight but have eaten for a sit down here and several others before.
The food is always hot, fresh and delicious.
Yes they do takeaways!................ It's all packed and good to go.
Waiting for our food, watching the local girls on a night out is interesting?!?.
The scampi or chicken is a must, there's must more on the menu but the staple is of course the best!!!!!
The others at Newlyn, Penzance etc are also fab

“Excellent proper Food”
Reviewed December 22, 2012

The meadery serves traditional british food. I ordered the scampi, and the portion size was massive, The meal was excellent quality and the service very friendly, yet professional.
Prices are very reasonable, for 2 of us with main and dessert and a alcoholic drink each came to around £35.
The decor is reflective of medieval times, and cutlery is optional.
My only slight quibble, the menu states all food is cooked to order, yet our meals were served within 1 minute of ordering, which with all the cooking skills in the world, Scampi and chips, and half chicken and chips cannot be cooked in under 1 minute. Despite this the meals tasted hot and fresh.
