A must visit place for those interested in Cornish Heritage and the history of Methodism. Well kept free admission, free parking, visitor shop and chapel open day times.

To be fair, there is not that much to see at Gwennap Pit - its essentially a tiered hole in the ground where Methodist preachers including the Wesley's spouted there stuff. There is a small visitor centre with toilets and refreshments (seasonal). It is free, and if you're interested in the history of the Methodist church I suppose it has its appeal.

This was a great find! We were only staying down the road at Mynheer Farm, but were so glad the owner recommended we take a visit to the pit. It was a lovely place - very well kept and managed. There was a lot of information available, to learn about the interesting history. it was also great fun to walk the circles.
Well worth a visit.

A surprising place to find an amphitheatre. This site is an important place in the history of Methodism and of Cornwall. There is a small chapel and visitor centre with information. Also Sunday afternoon services on some dates during the summer. It is easy to imagine John Wesley preaching to thousands of people here, though there have been some changes since his day. There are steps.

We discovered it by chance as it is really near our cottage. it's beautiful, unsual and full of history. our children loved walking all the way round and all the way back up as they get a certificate. a hidden gem!
