Enjoyed a very good pre-Christmas meal here with friends. The venison pie was a little rich for me, but that was not their fault, but more to do with me trying something for the first time! Everything was beautifully cooked with a good choice of vegetables. Friendly service, and a warm welcome. Haven't actually been back since, but it is on the list of things to do.

I had read previous reports and based on this we went to the pub for a meal. we had two great friends visiting and so were looking for somewhere where we could dine and enjoy some good real ales...........we were not disappointed. From the moment we opened the door, the greeting was genuine. We were served by Emma and she made us all feel as though we were true regulars. Thanks Emma.

The food was wonderful, served amazingly quickly. The steak was cooked to perfection. Our guest could not eat dairy products and so the chef came to speak with us; to discuss the ingredients and identify what could be eaten safely.

The atmosphere is warm and friendly; staff are efficient and humorous. The real ale is good.

This is a dog friendly place and have two wonderfully friendly gods who are there but not in the way. If you call them, they come over to be stroked. if you ignore them, they sleep!!

Would I recommend this place...most certainly. It is a hidden gem which is now found and i am lucky enough to live within walking distance so will be visiting again (and will probably take Molly the dog (our Labrador)

Visiting the Redruth area, we were looking for somewhere to eat and spend some time on a Friday night and this seemed to fit the bill. The rain was coming down in buckets but the atmosphere in the pub and the welcome from the staff made up for it. My husband enjoyed trying some local beer, of which there was a selection, and we enjoyed the food, especially the mussels. It was busy, which I think says something about it, and I would recommend a visit if you are passing by or staying locally.

It has been around five years since our last visit, had come under the "Two poor meals and out" rule then. Passing we thought to go see and have lunch, from the moment we entered the Land Lord and staff were friendly, insisted that they waited on the table.
The pub was spotless with a good range of Beer & Wine available, nice area outside on a fine day although right next to a busy road.

Menu & Specials board offer a good variety of dish's .
Food quality we felt was over priced,eg, I had Chicken breast in a brandy & pepper sauce, accompanied by a small quantity of potatoes,Colli & Carrot, although the chicken was well cooked the sauce had little taste. So, at around £13 for that plate it was in my opinion not value for money.

Would we visit again?,yes.

Average pub food, the kind you'd get in most places. Menu didn't seem well composed - lots of similar things and a limited vegetarian menu. Ingredients didn't seem the best quality and no
Mention was made of the provenance of the food and seeing the frozen food boxes in the yard confirmed my thoughts.

Owner seemed a bit full if himself, was rude and made a bit of an idiot of himself in front of people. Was far from warm and welcoming. Staff were nice, particularly the woman who works as a teacher normally - lovely girl.
