Excellent service, with plenty of staff to cope even when the brasserie was full. Breakfast was excellent and again the service was first class, with everything arriving promptly. Waiting staff were all super efficient and friendly.
The bedroom was light and airy and the bed was comfy.
Could do with better pillows tho.
We had a really great three nights and will definitely return.

Room Tip: 17 is on the corner and overlooking the car park so you do get some noise with the cars going but nothing to disturb sleep. Its fresh and airy and the bed is very big and comfy

The Talland Bay Hotel is perfection. We have just returned from an amazing 2 night stay. I cannot fault it at all, our room was beautiful looking out over the sea. Spacious, beautiful decor and extremely comfortable. The fine dining restaurant was sublime, outstanding food and service. The brasserie and bar equally lovely on our 2nd night. The staff were all great, friendly and brilliant service. Oh and breakfast was delicious too!! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend and can't wait to return one day. The location is wonderful offering, peace and quiet with stunning views. A long awaited perfect weekend set. Thank you Talland Bay.

We have stayed a few times and the service is outstanding. Very dog friendly, he even got a bowl , mat and a bone. The best part is the menu, it's amazing, fresh seafood and local produce. My favourite is the scallops. vRecently voted best independent hotel in Cornwall I believe

The view is wonderful !

We are both gluten free and they will do anything on the menu just taking out the gluten. They even make fresh gluten free bread.

The management and staff are very friendly. The walk around the grounds is worthwhile

We stayed at the Talland Bay for our wedding anniversary. Our 2-night stay was in the beautiful White Suite at the front of the hotel overlooking the lawns to the sea below. We were blessed with outstandingly good weather for our stay and this made our trips out the more pleasurable. Walks along the cliff paths to both Looe and Pollpero took about 50 minutes each way. Talland Bay itself is just at the bottom of the lane, about a 5 minute walk. The hotel was simply delightful: lovely, engaging and helpful staff; outstanding food (we ate in the main restaurant on both nights, although the brasserie looked great as well); and the decor, cleanliness and facilities of the hotel itself were terrific. Perhaps the only suggestion that I would make would be to make more radical changes to the restaurant menu each night (only one of the half dozen or so choices for each course actually changed on the second night). Nevertheless, this was a great visit and we will certainly be back again in the future.

Room Tip: You will not do better than the White Suite

Each year around the end of January we treat ourselves to a nice meal and night away to celebrate our birthdays. This year we left it very late to book, and our first choice hotel was full. This turned out to be very good news for us, as we ended up booking a night at Talland Bay. We booked a standard double room for £190 for dinner, bed and breakfast, plus a small additional charge for our two dogs. Now, finding a nice hotel that allows dogs can be tricky, but Talland Bay were not only happy to accommodate them, but also provided a doggy welcome pack. When we arrived we asked if we could view one of their cottages as we were considering upgrading, but were told that we had in fact already been upgraded to one of the suites. Very refreshing that they did not simply allow us to 'upgrade' ourselves and charge the extra. The room was spotless and spacious with a fantastic Kingsize bed and a bathroom with a free-standing bath and a seperate shower. Lovely views over the hotel grounds to the sea beyond. The food at both dinner and breakfast was exceptional, and as good as, if not better, than many expensive 'posh' restaurants. The coast path can be picked up just down the hill from the hotel and a gentle stroll to Polperro takes about an hour each way (plus a pub break in the middle, of course!). Overall, I would happily recommend Talland Bay to anyone. I have stayed in many hotels, and I would have expected to pay an awful lot more than we did for the quality of the hotel and the food. Steve and Denise, Penzance.
