“Lovely Beach, Breathtaking Views”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 7, 2013

Have only ever visited in Winter, and yes it is windy and sometimes wet but the views on the drive in are fabulous, and there is lots of walking to be done. Once to the side away from the main beach, is a bit more protected from the wind. My son and partner loved exploring rock pools and caves whilst I had a bracing walk and admired the views. Certainly worth a visit, must try and go in Summer next time!

“Awesome”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2013

My family is my first love, my second is Perranporth and especially the beach, the view from the cliff top at Droskyn point is absolutely spectacular at any time of the year, beautiful on a wild day when the Atlantic rollers are crashing against the cliffs and equally beautiful when the sun is shining on that glorious expanse of golden sandy beach. I first visited Cornwall when on a family holiday as a child and my first ever view of this spectacular county was Perranporth beach, I was hooked from that moment on. 44 years on and I now live just 20 minutes away from this fantastic place and it is somewhere where the wife and I often go to take the dog for a walk, think the dog agrees too

“Amazing all seasons”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 2, 2013

Every time i visit this beach it amazes! This summer roasting hot and Hawaii standard surf, great beach scene all summer and a great place for an evening BBQ, groups and families all having proper fun. Bleak and windswept this time, but a stunning beach with miles of walking with the dogs. So much interest, caves to sniff, rock pools to explore, and fantastic surf. also great kite surfing spot. Really cant beat this beach whatever the weather. parking is free of season and dogs allowed all year. Cornish heaven by the bucket full.

“Excellent beach for anyone”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 27, 2012

This is a great beach.

Pros

It is three miles long. And whilst the area nearest to Perranporth town can get busy, if you walk along, you can soon find a secluded spot.

The waves are good, perfect for surfing and body boarding, There are two large areas (near each access point) that are life guarded, with separate areas for surfers and swimmers/bodyboarders.

There is a large pub restaurant (The Watering Hole) on the beach, as well as various kiosks selling icecream, pasties etc.

Car park within throwing distance of the beach.

Toilets.

Lifeguard station and medical building.

Beach is trawled for rubbish every morning (early) to ensure debris free sand.

Lovely clifftop walk accessible from the beach.

Very good sunsets.

Cons

There are only two access points to the beach, one at the Perranporth town end, and one approx. 1.5m down the beach.

At high tide, you cannot pass from one access point to the other, and the far end of the beach becomes engulfed in the tide.

Quite a high riptide at times.

Not really suitable for swimmers.

“Dog friendly beach”

Great place to take your dog for a walk and then you can enjoy a drink and maybe a meal at the Watering hole, the pub on the beach.
