Just come back from Leycroft Valley today, we stayed in croft lodge C3 for a long weekend to celebrate my birthday and it was perfect! We travel to Cornwall a few times a year as we have family there and I can definitely say this is the best place we've been. It is very difficult to get signal in and around the site, however for most people wanting to get away for a for a bit that's what you want. We had a good sized bedroom with a full length mirror and open plan kitchen/living area with everything we could have needed and more! Even though the weather wasn't great we made full use of the hot tub, we were quite high up so it was lovely views of all the trees and woodland and was a real treat. All the staff we came across were very friendly and helpful, and there is also an information book in the lodge written by the owners which is a lovely touch. All in all, a wonderful relaxing long weekend

We visited Truro, Padstow, Newquay, Perranporth and Hollywell Bay and enjoyed all of them, Perranporth beach at sunset is absolutely gorgeous and definitelty worth taking your camera! We also ate at Baba Indian in Truro and the Bowgie Inn in Crantock and would highly recommend both of those, especially the Bowgie where they have gorgeous views!

Hi Viki

Thanks for your comments. So glad you enjoyed your stay with us. We like The Bowgie Inn too....spectacular sea views. Good to know that you found our information brochure useful...just a few hints and ideas to help guests get the best out of their holiday.
We look forward to seeing you again maybe.
Have a happy Christmas

Arrived home from Leycroft Valley today and what a stay it was! Amazing! The owners really do have a gem and have created such a wonderful retreat! It was sad to leave, can't possibly recommend the lodges enough.

We stayed in Coombe Lodge plus A1, it was on level ground which was okay but when we plan to return we shall ask if we can have one in the trees! It was a last minute holiday so we were just very happy to receive what we had!

There where no quibbles throughout our whole weekend stay, the only thing is not having Vodafone phone signal in the valley on site but that's just one of those things that can be overlooked!

The hot tub had to be one of the best parts of the holiday!! Very nice you won't be disappointed!

Many thanks to you all at Leycroft for offering such good value for money

Hi Emma

Thanks for taking the time to post your comments. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at Leycroft Valley. The valley changes so much with the seasons; blossom and new leaves in spring, dappled sunshine in summer and falling, coloured leaves in autumn..making it hard to choose which time of year to visit. We are just putting up the Christmas decs in all the lodges and The Leats so we will look festive for New Year.
Hope you are able to visit us again sometime
Best wishes

Loved our stay at Leycroft Valley!

We stayed in Lodge A10 which is a Coombe Lodge Plus. It’s one of the higher ones and we weren’t overlooked by anyone. The site itself is smaller than you might expect and the lodges are fairly close to each other, however the layout and facing of the lodges is very well thought out so that all hot tubs are not over looked, and once you step onto your decking you don’t feel like there are other people around at all! I’d recommend a higher up one though as it was lovely to look out from hot tub and be in the tree branches. A10 also had a glass roof over the hot tub – I was a bit hesitant about this at first, as we’ve always had them open before, however, it still felt very ‘outside’, didn’t restrict seeing trees / stars etc and proved invaluable when it hammered down with hail / gale force winds!!

The lodge itself was fine, slightly tired in the lounge area, but generally nice and very clean, (It’s also a definite lodge rather than a cladded caravan) good utensils, bathroom was lovely. They also give you a robe and disposable slippers plus and extra towel each for the hot tub – sounds silly but we haven’t had this before and consequently spent time faffing about rationing towels! The tub wasn’t ready to use when we got there, slightly disappointing, but I’d half been expecting it as I’d read a couple of the other reviews on here. It was ready when we got back however, and worked perfectly the rest of the holiday. Really good nights sleep, so nice to hear nothing but the wind in the trees.

The site is a about a 30 minute walk into Perranporth (just under 2 miles), it’s only not lit for about the first 5 – 10 minutes – torch is needed though. Perranporth itself was ok, bit dead as out of season, the beach is beautiful and the coastal path gives spectacular views, we had planned to walk along the path to St Agnes but the wind was just too fierce so we had to go in land. Instead we went via the Miners Arms pub in Mithian which is the perfect country pub in my opinion - yummy food and very warm and inviting, dog friendly too. We also ate at Massala in Perranporth which was really nice if a little more expensive than we expected. We did the Monday night quiz at the Tywarnhayle pub, this was ok, they don’t do food out of season and it was freezing cold but a good quiz! We popped into Leats one night, food was v nice (and massive portions!) and waitress very friendly.

Perracombe is the perfect location for exploring Cornwall, we did some local walks and also visited Newquay, St Ives, Lands End, Truro and Padstow, with Padstow (Rick Stein’s Fish and Chips is AMAZING and reasonable too) being my favourite place I think.

I’d definitely go back, lovely site and lovely part of the world!

Room Tip: Lodges higher up (on outside of map) are generally more private / have better views.

Dear "Glitter"

Thanks for posting your review. As you mentioned some of the lodges are looking a little tired after a long and busy season. There is so little time free during the season to get into the lodges and give them a quick coat of paint as we are so busy. We can assure you that come January, each lodge gets a full inspection and furntiure etc gets replaced if required and everything gets a freshen up. We try to change the soft furnishings on a rolling rota, beds, curtains, appliances mattresses.....everything is then ready for the February opening deadline.

You also mentioned your hot tub not being ready on arrival......as we have said before it is our policy to make sure each tub is emptied and refilled between each party of guests. This time of year it just takes that little bit longer to heat up.....thanks for your understanding

We do hope you will visit us again and that you will tell your friends and families what a lovely holiday you had.
Best wishes
Bec and Shaun
