Having spent a year in China, I came home to go on holiday with my partner who had booked a place that was out of the way in a little hidden gem with a garden to be envious of. The place itself was hidden away from the main road, going down some country lanes until you reach the Hidden Valley Gardens shop. The garden was beautiful and quite, with little nooks and crannies to discover with lots of fresh fruit and vegetable growing in different section.

The accommodation was above the garage and was just big enough for a couple to enjoy a weeks stay, with access to the garage where you can do some washing if you require. The kitchen had everything you needed, and the room was a studio room with a table, sofa and a bed. The bathroom was spacious and had both a bath and shower, which is over the bath. Very clean and the decor was nice.

Access to the garden includes being able to sit and eat your meals in the gazebo or on the patio outside the accommodation and access to the accommodation is either up some wooden stairs which ascends to the patio, or a wooden walkway - about 15 metres long from the garden when you can walk round and up a slop through the garden.

The family who own the property are very friendly and helpful, and will give you advice on where to visit depending on your needs. Well worth a visit, either just to visit the garden or as a base for visiting other attractions or places in Cornwall.

If you love wildlife or beds of vibrant flowers this is the garden to visit. Full of rows upon rows of bright flowers including crocosmia, salvias and dahlias'.

There is a constant hum of bees and you're likely to spot many different butterflies including clouded yellow, green veined whites and hummingbird hawk moths.

- has a bathroom
- provides self catering refreshments
- grown is fairly level for good access
- have a range of plants for sale
- seating area at the front
- decent parking area
- garden contains meadow patches, wildlife boggy plants and pond, perennial borders, Eastern style shaded garden, fruit trees, rocky gravel gardens and more.

Our pictures taken at a time of high heat and no rain for weeks, although the grass is a bit brown the borders are still stunning!

Beautiful garden, well maintained making for a relaxing and quiet visit. Helpful owners and useful leaflet. We enjoyed making our own cups of tea at the end. Felt all the better for our visit!

This is a lovely garden with a variety of colourful borders and corners, vegetable beds and pond. It's compact (although a lot bigger than most people's back gardens!) and we enjoyed a 45-minute stroll looking at the different areas using the well-labelled leaflet. A cup of tea or coffee is included with the ticket price (£5 adult/kids free) and there were biscuits and homemade fairy cakes to buy. There is also a wide range of plants for sale and we were given good advice by Peter on how to look after our purchases. Its size means it's ideal for a visit as part of a day out in and around Fowey - it's a little gem that takes a little effort to reach down some country lanes, but is well worth the drive!
