I booked through Secret locations and what a find. The cottage was just beautifully clean, comfy, stunning views from the sitting room. Fully equipped, the bathrooms were bang up to date, just so lovely and easy to explore Cornwall.

Room Tip: Cottages that have the hot tubs have the stunning views.

We have just returned from Green acres . We stayed in a two bed cottage and took along our dog Harry. The cottage was clean, modern with all we needed to make our stay enjoyable. Tucked away with wonderful views across the open countryside. I would highly recommend this place to our friends and family. Great for all the local sight seeing and just a short journey from Fowey. Brilliant local pub called the Crown just a short taxi journey away.

Room Tip: The 2 bedroom cottages all have their own private gardens with patio or grass or both. The larger h...

We stayed in cottage 3 from Friday 19th August 2011 to Friday 26th August 2011. This is our second time at Green Acres and things have deteriorated. The first time we stayed in 2009 it cost £600 for one week but this time the cost was £1300. The location is stunning and the pool is a great hit with the children. The cottages have wifi and Sky Sports TV which kept our 9yr old happy. However, you can feel the metal springs in the mattresses, the cottage was not cleaned properly and the bathroom needs an overhaul (the shower did not drain and dirty water just filled up in the shower base). Also do not arrive before 4pm (as we did) as we ended up being criticised by the housekeeper and the Managing Director (not quite the friendly greeting we hoped for after a 7hr journey!). In my opinion Green Acres has enormouse potential but unless the management can refresh the cleaning standards and customer service then their are better alternatives nearby.

What a great place to stay with children. We stayed in Cottage #7...a newer cottage. It was nice, open, and pretty large. We have three boys under the age of 10 and it never felt croweded at all. We had two bedrooms, a master and then the children's room with two twin beds. The beds need to be replaced or some comfortable mattress pads need to be added. Very springy and not very comfortable. The tv's have Sky Satellite and each cottage has internet access. The pool and play area are very nice. The view is beautiful. About a 45 minute drive from Newquay, Padstow....Fowey is a lovely town not far off....Charlestown is cute too. The beaches nearby are quiet and pretty. I had a great time here. Our friends stayed in Cottage 2 with their three children. There's was a bit smaller than ours, but they had two bathrooms and one washroom, we only had a washroom and one bathroom. I would've liked to have someone onsight to speak with if we wanted more linens or needed help with something. There was someone in Reception between 9:30 and 10 and that was about it.

We stayed here as the result of surfing the web and finding a late deal. The website looked good so we booked for a few days. On arrival everything was good, including the weather (we picked the right week). The standard of the site, swimming pool and the cottage we had was excellent. It's a new development and is at least as good as the website shows. It is close to a main road but hidden away with brilliant views over the valley towards the sea. Not a beach based holiday but they aren't far away and it's ideal for exploring this fascinating part of Cornwall. I have already recommended it to family and we intend to stay again.

We stayed here for 4 nights in June and thoroughly enjoyed it. The cottages are very well equipped, modern and very clean. Fowey is 5 miles away and Polperro a little further. You can also go north to Padstow and Newquay in about 40 minutes. The Eden Project is very near and well worth going to. We ate at Sam's in Fowey and would recommend it - it was very busy and you cannot book but they have a lounge upstairs with a bar and comfortable seating where you can sit and wait. It is all very well organised, there is a nice atmosphere about the place and the food is very good.
