We have stayed at Mullion Cove several times, with our two dogs during August bank holiday and whilst i can agree with comments about the slowness of service in the dinning room on the odd occasion, once mentioned the staff are only to happy to put right your complaint,so just relax. You are in deepest Cornwall enjoy. I love returning to the hotel for the views, walks and the friendliness of the staff, the scrummy menu and i hope it will always remain so.

The hotel and its location are simply breathtaking. I stayed for 5 nights and loved every secdond of it. The room is spotless, the service excellent, the staff highly professional and extremely friendly, the food (especially the diner) simply to die for. I highly recommend this hotel to family, friends and anyone who is even thinking about visiting anywhere near there in Cornwall!

This hotel was great, the location was unbeatable, on the cliff top with wonderful views.
I was booked by work into what i would imagine was one of the cheaper rooms so sadly no sea view but a nice clean, cosy room with big bathroom and comfy bed.
Free wireless access and computer with internet downstairs. Some nice lounge's that you could relax in.
Lorraine on reception was really friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was excellent, good selection and nicely presented (tea in a pot which I always think is a good sign!).
I'll definitely be returning.

This really is a lovely hotel, our newly refurbished 2nd floor sea view room was fantastic ( our daughters older twin room less so, but reflected in price) and the public areas are all clean and well furnished. The food was good but we had a very similar experience to the last reviewer, variable service and an obvious lack of a pre service briefing for the staff, young waitresses couldn't describe dishes etc. On the whole a lovely hotel.
But
This is the sister hotel to one of the best hotels in the country, at which we have stayed with our children, and it should be better. The three star rating should really only relate to facilities, as part of this family business the service and attention to detail was just not quite there.
I don't want to list points but as a prime example of what I mean; the hotel has clearly been repainted and the grounds, such that they are, are well kept, the hotel looks imposing and impressive, everything you would expect. But as you approach the main entrance you are welcomed by a worn, faded and cracked Visa sign left in the window. It is a tired throwback to a past era and the manager must walk past this evey day.
The Thurlston is a tough act to follow but just this sort of detail makes all the difference - well it does to me.

We recently spent 6 days at this hotel in a sea view room which had recently been refurbished. The room was lovely with a stunning view of the coast across to Penzance and Newlyn. The staff were all very helpful and pleasant, especially those on reception. The food veered from the very good to the absolutely gorgeous. All in all one of the best hotels we have stayed in, in the UK. There has to be a 'but' however and this is reserved for the dining room staff. All perfectly pleasant but I feel undertrained in their duties. Whoever is in charge in the dining room needs to be much more hands on. Long unexplained delays between arriving and ordering main course and puddings. (Dead flowers left on the table) My wife's sticky toffee pudding was stone cold after half an hour's wait - obviously had been left on one side in the kitchen. It miraculously arrived 30 seconds after we queried where our desserts were. I greatly enjoyed my English breakfast - my wife however only wants lashings of coffe and cereal in the mornings. Not best pleased to be given a little coffe pot holding only 11/2 cups after the usual long wait.

I returned there after 10 years (new owners) and the hotel is even better:
the setting and the views are splendid (even if all the time you see the cars
parked in front of the house, which quite disturbs the marvellous view).
Service and food were pleasing (excellent seafood platter) and after one week
we felt profoundly relaxed. Not to forget: the new outdoor swimming pool!
There a lots of possibilities for great walks on the Lizard; the coast path runs through the grounds and it's only a 10 minutes stroll to the village of Mullion.
All in all - highly recommendable!

This hotel has a fabulous location on the cliff above Mullion Cove. It was a return trip for us after a few years to celebrate our wedding anniversary. W e had a few concerns about our standard room but these were addressed promptly by Chris the Manager (I think) Anyway we thoroughly enjoyed our stay as the food couldn't be faulted and the views are stunning. I think that the staff go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. The hotel was full but coped fine with everybody. There are lots of comfortable lounges. We certaintly hope to return soon.
