Oh my goodness. This is a location and a half. Perched on a cliff edge. It is wild and isolated here. The views are to die for. The staff are also so helpful and friendly.

We spent three days there with our puppy - we were nervous about taking her as it was her first trip away from home.

At first we were not so sure. The hotel has a fabulous location – high on the Cornish cliffs with wonderful views and breathtaking walks in either direction. But the inside looked a little faded and the room lacked some of the luxuries you might expect in a fancy hotel – no air con for example, and no dressing gowns.

But we very soon came to like it, and over the three days loved it more and more. The place was clean and comfortable and easy to relax in; the food was really good – not extravagantly wonderful, but interesting well cooked and well presented, the wine list was good too. The dining room was bright with lovely views and the swimming pool was welcoming.

But best of all were the staff – we have never been to a place with staff quite like this. Every single one of them was cheerful, helpful, courteous, and absolutely committed to making our stay as good as it could be. They really did make all the difference and, for that reason alone, we shall be back.

As for our puppy, she loved it too. The claim to offer "dog friendliness" is absolutely genuine and we felt throughout that she was welcomed and not merely tolerated.

So a most enjoyable experience, and by no means unreasonable for the price. Well worth the long slog to the far end of Cornwall!

We first found this hotel in 1997 when it was in need of refurbishment but the staff and the atmosphere made it a perfect stay anyway. Since then we have returned 4/5 times and wherever else we go in the UK The Mullion Cove is the benchmark. They have now refurbed but none of the hospitality has been lost. The food is fab, the service excellent and the manager and staff are the best. The position/views etc are unbeatable. I cannot praise this hotel enough and I am the real picky letter writing kind of guest!! I urge you to stay there.
