Really tasty. Cooked to order so you will have to wait but it's worth it. Eat in or take away. Friendly staff

“good fish and chips”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 18, 2014

This was our first visit to the chippy. We had a bit of a wait for our meal to be served in the restaurant but it was well worth the wait. The cod and chips were really good and the large portion of fish was the best we have had for quite a while. It was clean and airy and the staff were very hospitable. Hope to call again on our next visit.

“Disappointing but we may have just picked the wrong time of day”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 31, 2014

We have visited this chip shop before but I think it was under different ownership. It's been opened out a bit inside and looked very clean and airy with all the staff wearing a uniform of such and looking very smart.

We only had a takeaway and they were not taking any more table bookings anyway as we got there about half an hour before they closed I believe. We were looking forward to this but I can only refer to the food as disappointing really. The curry sauce was watery and not as thick as I expected from a chip shop and the chips were not great, I think we had the last of a batch and they tasted a bit "past it". My parents' fish was overcooked and I think had generally been on the hotplate for a bit too long. My wife enjoyed her "big foot" sausage but all of our chips were a bit overdone and felt like the end of the batch. My cheesy chips were not that good at all and several of us ended up not eating everything we had ordered.

As the title suggests, we may have just been unlucky that we visited towards the end of their opening hours but I can only judge on how we found it, and that was disappointing on this visit.

“Cornish Fish & Chips”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 24, 2014

Visited here for take away fish n chips for the family whilst on holiday. Long wait as it was Saturday evening and have to say the food was disappointing for the money paid. Fish batter was over cooked and not much fish inside, chips were ok nothing more, later discovered we could have had Rick Steins fish and chips family take away in Falmouth for same money and the food there is always quality. Didn't return the week we were there after the first visit, the Galleon needs to up the standard as people expect excellent food in Cornwall.
