We stayed for two nights in Mullion for a family get together. We were made very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. All the staff were so helpful and smiled all the time. Their honesty was wonderful. We accidentally left some money in the room and this was returned immediately.

Popped in for a meal at the weekedend as we were driving through.

Really friendly staff and were able to have table service. Good choice of St Austell ales. My partner had Chicken and I chose Rabbit. Both were cooked to perfection and enough to fill us up so we could not manage a pudding!

Will definatley be returning and using the accomodation.

Staff were reasonably friendly. Rooms were clean and large. Bed was a little on the small size & no shower in the en suite bathroom just a bath which would be problematic for some people.

Staying on a B&B basis and was well worth the breakfast! As a general comment the food was fantastic- locally sourced in the main with great flavours. The menu is quite limited though. Pub VERY popular locally so advise book your table early.

Definitely worth stopping in for a short stay to explore the Lizard Peninsula and very convenient if you're going to be using the Newton Equestrian Centre for a riding holiday.

My husband and I stayed at the Old Inn for three nights, as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, and visiting our daughter who works in one of the holiday parks in the area. Ours was a late booking, made by our daughter, and the staff were very helpful to her, even allowing her access to our room to decorate it with banners and balloons prior to our arrival.
The room was a family size one, and was large, clean, and had TV, and tea and coffee making facilities. The bathroom was a decent size, and was also spotlessly clean. My only complaint was there was no shower.
Breakfasts are well presented, well cooked, and the chef will cook anything you require. The staff are all pleasant, friendly, and very helpful, and the evening meals are also excellant.. All in all, this place is charming, and we will definately stay there again.I might just add, that the bed was very comfotable, and the rooms are quiet, and the quality of sleep therefore is high.

My husband and i spent 5 weeks in Cornwall visiting many different areas. We planned a walk for each day and looked forward to a lovely pub lunch at the end of each one.
The Mullion area coastline did not disappoint and we spent two days exploring the area from our rented base.
We ate in the Old Inn the first lunchtime as it was opposite the village parking we had begun our walk from.
We were given a pleasant welcome by the friendly young man beind the bar and found a table by the window in the maze of rooms.
The menu was varied but not too lengthy. My husband chose the Special of the day 'Monkfish with samphire on mash' and i the cheese ploughmans.
The Monkfish was perfectly cooked with a lovely sauce that we couldn't quite identify the lovely taste of.
We returned the next day and chose the Chicken from the menu if i remember correctly and a Steak. Both were cooked to perfection ( and we are both foodies and a bit critical).
It was such a delight to dine in a pub and receive both excellent service and food. Being in Cornwall for 5 weeks and eating out daily we feel qualified to make these remarks.
When we asked the bar staff to pass on our compliments to the chef, the pleasant young lady (day 2) told us that he had recently joined the team and they felt lucky to have secured him.
We second that! Well done to all at the Old Inn. We hope to return one day.

The pub is now under new management since Septemer 2010 and the new people have made some great improvements. We ha been a little worried about some of the earlier negative reviews but the new management has made this a really nice place to visit. We only stayed for one night but were treated really well. The room was well equipped and spotlessly clean. The food was excellent (very large helpings of home cooked fare). The staff were attentiv and helpful. The pub is well located in the middle of the pleasant village of Mullion and has easy access to some of Cornwall's and the Lizard's best coastal areas.

We booked this on the internet on the offer stay 2 nights with 3rd night free. We arrived on the Friday and had booked for three nights. When we arrived we went to reception and was greeted by a very nice young gentleman, he took our names and then showed us to our rooms.

The roooms were clean but the plaster was falling from the roof in two if the rooms. The website needs to be updated as it states that the rooms are newly refurbished.

On the second night the lock was broken on the door and we could not enter the room. There was no access to reception and the fire doors were chained. There was no phone in the other room to call, so we had to share the room with another couple. When we finally got back into the room the next morning the hot water ran out while we were having showers. This was brought to the attention of the owner who doubted the validity of our statement, we asked him to come up and check but he never came to the room.
On the basis of all this we decided to check out of the accomodation a day early. The lady that was checking us out treated us very badly and made alot of sarcastic comments.
I really think the staff we meet on the Friday night were lovely, but the managment (owner) of this establishment need to improve there social skills.
