“Beautifuly restored harbour side cottage”

We had a really wonderful time at Thimble Cottage and in Mevagissey. Thimble was all we hoped it would be - a beautifully restored cottage, just the right size, a great view of the harbour, wood burning stove for cosy nights in - and Mevagissey was a totally new discovery for us. We loved that it is a very active working harbour and a thriving community. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming - and it has some great pubs! We even encountered the Mevagissey male voice choir singing at the Fountain after one of their rehearsals on Monday night and they were fantastic. We based ourselves in Mevagissey all week and barely got in the car - lovely walks out to Gorran Haven and vault beaches and other places. So all in all a pretty perfect way to spend Christmas - and we will be coming back!

Thimble cottage is a beautiful place, the scenery is breathtaking.
I try to stay at Thimble cottage once a year, there is so much to do from coastal walks, to lazing around in the garden/pubs.

Family friendly, great for a week long break or a walkers retreat. Thimble is so warm and feels like home, nicely sized bedrooms, within walking distance to the beach and mevagissey harbor.

“Lovely Cottage in Fantastic setting”

3rd time in Thimble Cottage. Spotlessly clean, everything you need and ideal for the harbour. Caught mackerel for tea, enjoyed the local restaurants and totally switched off - wonderful!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this enchanting fisherman's cottage, set in a fantastic location, seconds from the harbour. Thimble had everything to make our stay just perfect. love the sea views!
Best was the BBQS had in the delightful sunny courtyard, with the mackerel, we caught from the harbour wall.
. The Ferry to Fowey was spectacular . the ferry is docked in Mevagissey's harbour, so only a couple of mins walk from the front door.
It was great to ditch the car , (complimentary pass provided) we spent a few days not needing the car as we stayed in Mevagissey, walked the coastal path & Heligan straight out of Thimble's front door. The array of local shops meant we could buy everything we needed right in the village, marvelous. it was also very refreshing not to have any traffic outside or near the cottage!!
Happy days, all in all a beautfuly decorated home from home cottage, that has been renovated to high standard, but keeping all the character.
Don't forget the Fountain Inn serves a marvelous pint of Rattlers and local ale.

“Beautiful cottage”

Currently staying at Thimble Cottage and loving every minute of it. Surroundings are very relaxed but you can be in the centre of things in one minute. Uphill walk to the cottage, plus a few steps but not too far. Main problem is either arriving/departing with cases, bags, shopping but you learn to pack light and buy what you need daily. Comfy beds, everything you need to cook, nice little terrace garden which catches the sun and gorgeous harbour views from the top floor. Love it here
