We stayed at Coast Cottage for a week with our parents and 1 year old son. What a wonderful place it was! The cottage was very well equipped and catered for us all. The beds were extremely comfy and the view was amazing! The position is good. We would definitely recommend Coast Cottage and will hopefully be stopping again in the future!
We took my aging parents with us and we all loved the bungalow - it was particularly nice to have almost separate wings of the place so that we could enjoy both our shared and own space.
We were incredibly lucky with the weather so spent a lot of time out on the beach and enjoyed the climb back up at the end of the day.
We chose Coast Cottage for our post Christmas, New Year coastal retreat and were overjoyed upon our arrival in Mawgan Porth and the beautiful cottage up on the hill. Coast Cottage has a wonderful view of Mawgan Porth Bay and is in a quiet residential area. The large decking area even in the winter months can be used to sit on with a glass of wine in hand and warm coat to comfort. We loved viewing the 2017 Scarlett Boutique hotel Fireworks from the Deck. The Scarlett - a couple of minutes walk away, serves the best cocktails and if you are feeling flush go for a spa day and luxury pamper. The weather was exceptional, 14 degrees, sunshine, beach walks and even a dip in the Cornish sea with great waves for newbies body boarders and big waves for harder surfers. Surfing in December was a real highlight for our family, the sea was warm enough, just!
Most of the time we relaxed in the house, playing games, watching TV and family walks in the beautiful Cornish countryside. Cooking on the cream Aga with a fully equipped kitchen was a joy. If you don't feel like cooking, restaurant highlights for us included a visit to Jamie Olliver's Fifteen restaurant on Watergate bay - just a few minutes around the corner, the Beach Hut below Fifteen and Rick Stein's Fish and Chip Shop in Padstow. There are a large number of local cafes and eateries that really make this area excel. A foodies' haven.
The bedrooms are tastefully decorated in a light coastal palette and the house was delightfully warm for the whole of our visit - probably due to the Aga radiating warmth and comfort. House layout highlights include a large family bathroom and ensuite on the main bedrooms, a huge lawn with great views of the sea and a light filled sitting room with roaring wood burning fire gives you that desired relaxed retreat feel. A well earned 5 stars, big thanks to the hosts who have really thought about what their guests need for a break and know how to provide the perfect relaxing environment.
We stayed here for one week in November and the cottage was very comfortable, well equipped and cosy with a large comfy bed. The cottage has a lovely family home feel and we loved the picture book story of its history with the owners young family. A great place for a summer beach holiday with youngsters. Walking distance (15 mins) to Mawgan Porth beach, local pub and restaurants and Coast Path, although it is at the top of the hill! Booking with the owners was very straightforward and the cottage is managed locally in case of any issues ( we didn't have any!)
being Cornish I always love coming 'home' - this has been, by far, the nicest place I've stayed. The cottage is so well equipped and decorated, all attention to detail taken care of. Ideally located for the lovely local beaches and walks, the dogs have loved it and are shattered! The owners are friendly and easy to deal with. I can't recommend Coast Cottage enough

We love Coast Cottage, this was our third time and it never disappoints. Our teenage kids love it too. Fab beach, wonderful sunsets, and a house where all the details are taken care of.
My husband and I have been lucky enough to stay at Coast Cottage in both summer and winter.
My favourite things about the summer stay were trotting along the grassy paths from the cottage garden down to the beach which reminded me of an Enid Blyton story setting ... sitting on the patio looking at the view and watching the sun set over the sea (priceless)... fish and chips from the village ... and the stunning beach of course.
In Winter we wrapped up for beach walks and when a storm came in we cosied up by the wood burner watching films. We loved the feeling of being away from it all on our winter stay but down the road from all that we needed.
The cottage has a light, spacious feel and is beautifully decorated and furnished. And that view ...
