As a local I had been to the Scarlet for lunch many times, and found the food to be amazing and the wine list insane (we actually chose our wine for our wedding after stumlbing upon it at the Scarlet). Prior to our wedding my husband and I stayed at the Scarlet as a retreat from all the crazy wedding planning (no mobile phone service :) the room was Number 10, and it was beautiful, a bath in the corner (and what a bath!), terrace with views over beautufl Mawgan Porth, a great big bed and lots of fun details. We used all the spa facilities including the eco friendly, tea tree hot tub, complete with a glass of champagne looking out over the beach and sea. I really enjoy the fact it is child free, and I love the service at The Scarlet, it is luxury without being pretentious. It is one of my favourite hotels to be, favourite restaurants, and now as I have just been given a night there as a 30th birthday present I will be booking again very soon :)

So much thought has been poured into this place to make it a wonderful experience. Everything 'works' - the architecture, the grounds, the artwork, the spa. All of this is supported by a team of staff all of whom were genuinely warm and caring and, most importantly, confident and not at all subservient. It's a rare thing to receive such service and hats off to all concerned. If you are looking for a real treat, don't hesitate.

Room Tip: The just right rooms are brilliant. Ask for advice when you book to help you choose.

Where do you start with the Scarlet? Probably with the view - and what a view! The hotel is designed to maximise this from the moment you walk into the entrance hall, to the rooms, the restaurant, the pool, even the hot tubs.
Funky, super comfortable rooms. Friendly service, the whole place has a chilled, laid back vibe. Hot tubs are an experience not to be missed. Breakfast is a total treat. Did I mention the view? Worth every penny

Visited here for our 10th Wedding Anniversary for some Mum & Dad time. Very relaxing, Wonderful location, Lovely staff, fab room with breathtaking views. Probably one of the most welcoming, chilled stays we have had anywhere. Loved the breakfast and after asking the barman to 'surprise' me with a refreshing cocktail he did just that, spot on ! .... PS .. Hamman & Hot Tub Fab x

My husband and I stayed here for four nights at the end of October and were completely blown away with the setting, service, food, hotel itself (bedroom with view, different lounges to relax in...) and the spa - which, having been to many of the best across the country I would say is now my favourite.
I can't recommend this hotel enough.
We did yoga at 8am each morning, went on amazing coastal walks in the mornings (scenery is breathtaking) and had treatments in the afternoons. It was just perfect.
Thank you Scarlet Hotel staff for giving us an amazing stay!

Room Tip: The taxi from Bodmin Parkway was £78 return. Might be worth looking at training to Newquay

We spent 2 nights at the Scarlet and had an amazing time. The staff were so warm and friendly and always had time to chat and get to know us. The hotel itself blended into its cliff top surroundings and was built with such thought, sustainability and eco sense. The view from our room was just breathtaking and had an outside patio area and a path to the beach below. That evening we ate in the restaurant and were treated to 3 courses of the most delicious local cuisine. As always the restaurant and bar staff were charming and engaging. Nothing was ever too much trouble. The next day we had a couples "journey" a well thought out ayurvedic spa fest. First, we had a couples ayurvedic consultation, then we were taken to the relaxation room with stunning clifftop views, a mass of beanbags, hanging comfy pods, and relaxation chairs. From there we had a couples rhassoul, followed by a full body massage together and to cap it all off a champagne bath. We were in absolute heaven and came away 4 hours later feeling dreamy and never wanting to go back into the stressed out "real world" again. The seaweed hot tub on the cliff top was wonderful too and mustn't be missed. We came away completely rejuvenated. Can't wait for our next minimoon!

From the moment you arrive at this stunning location you feel special. The staff are super friendly and attentive. We ate in the restaurant on both evenings. On the second evening my husband wanted a main course from the lunch menu and it was no trouble at all. We used the rhassoul room in the spa. Don't miss it! Cannot find anything to fault. Was a real birthday treat.
