“Pure Luxury”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 3, 2012

We have stayed in a lot of different cottages that claim to be "Luxury" but they cant hold a candle to this cottage, We stayed in the "Woolbarn Cottage" and from the moment we arrived and opened the door we knew we were in for a treat, everything about this cottage is just perfect from the view across Widemouth Bay to the level of equipment in the cottage ie Denby dinner service Jamie Oliver cutlery and a lovely Spa Bath.If your a animal lover then in field next to the cottage are the Sheep and there are many different species of wild birds, to be honest i have never enjoyed a more relaxing holiday and cant wait to go back !

We have stayed in several of the one bedroomed cottages at Wooldown over the last few years and they are all of the same high standard. Each cottage is tastefully furnished, and kept impeccably clean. The friendly owners are on hand if needed, but non intrusive if you don't. We couldn't recommend Wooldown highly enough. PS homemade cake and scones on arrival is a nice touch.

very friendly, welcoming hosts stayed in Stargazey for 7 nights and from the minute we walked through the door the stunning views across the hills never disappointed, the facilities definately have the wow factor and very high spec, with everything catered for, including the lovely smellies in the bathroom. We found a variety of walks across fields to Widemouth Bay or the definately reccomend canal walk to Bude or just a quick 2 minute walk to the pub (which has very tastey meals). Loved it so much stayed an extra 3 days, really cant wait to go back.

This has lovely view across Widemouth Bay (where a great Fish and Chip Shop and fresh fish shop can be found). In a small complex of similarly luxururiousy equipped 2-people units, larger units available nearby on the same farm. Everything in the cottage is top quality , but expensive equipment is not always the most practical. For example it has a double range cooker on which you could do a large batch of baking but a very small microwave and no dishes small enough for the turntable.
Therer are large lanscaped gardens with sun loungers and a barbeque as well as a private patio area. Wi-Fi is available via a mains network which gave us faster speed than we have at home.
There is a pub within walking distance and a lakeside Bistro a long walk or short drive away near the Bude canal from where there are good walks available along the canal or out to the coast

Just had a stay with the family. Excellent house, just right for a group because there are various sitting areas, and the gardens /position is wonderful. Would certainly go back.

Place was lovely, looked just like the photos on the website (and how often can you say that?). We stayed in 'Buttermilk Barn' which we picked because of the fantastic looking chunky four poster bed. Superb. Kitchen had all you need, including dishwasher, and the leather sofas were great for relaxing on, be that reading or watching TV. The place also had underfloor heating, oh my god, this is the life!

I was really impressed even before I arrived when Rowan, one of the owners, texted me to say the property was ready and that I could just call him on his mobile if I needed directions.
The cream tea provided on arrival was also a nice touch.

It had everything you need for a break for two, including lovely views out to sea.

If you want a base to explore north Cornwall, this is a lovely spot.

A really nice property and place to stay. In the same way modern, traditional and comfortable furnished. All seems to be very new. It's a quiete place to relax. Underfloor heating makes a very comfortable climate in the room.
The size of the bed is wonderful and absolutely comfortable for two adults. But we could not get used to the matress which was too soft.
