Description: Trewithen Restaurant is one of the most renowned restaurants in Cornwall. Its reputation is founded on two key ingredients - great food and first class friendly service. Trewithen is open throughout the year, serving a varied seasonal menu to both a loyal customer base and visitors to the area. Located in Lostwithiel, Trewithen is easily accessible for all parts of Cornwall. The restaurant also has a private dining room that can be hired for functions or meetings and a walled garden for sheltered al fresco dining in the summer months.

If you like excellent food, you will find it at the Trewithen Restaurant in Lostwithiel. I visited it the first time one year ago and was thinking about it the whole time to my second visit just about two weeks ago. This restaurant is a "pearl". You will find not only delicous food but also a very pleasant atmopshere and if you like to look at magazines as Country Living or Homes & Antiques or Elle decoration etc. because you are a sort of "Interieur Design Junkie" as me, then you will feel very "at home" in this location. It is beautiful, it is the perfect mixture of colours, materials, country vintage and modern style of house and furniture. Clair and her stuff will serve your food with a lot of friendlyness, humor and professionality. This restaurant is my favorite in Cornwall.
Greetings from Switzerland and Mürren and best wishes, Sabina

My colleague and I were visiting the area on business and decided to try this on advice from a local, having exhausted all other restaurants in the area (of which there are not many!). Not dissimilar to Tapenades restaurant in Liskeard, Trewithen is a very small and intimate restaurant serving tasty local food. The waitress and waiter were very friendly and you get the impression that they are passionate about the restaurant and the food.
As our experience was so enjoyable we returned a few days later and enjoyed it as much as the first time, if not more!
Over the two visits we had scallops, sea breem, mushroom ravioli and venison which were all delicious!
It is on the more expensive side but is worth every penny and nowhere else we ate in the area even came close.

This is a high standard restaurant. We were a party of three - all had different dishes (meat, fish and vegetarian) and everyone was happy. Cassoulet was apparently particularly good. Nice ambience too.

This restaurant was recommended both on here and at our holiday accommodation. Since eating there we understand why. The service was very friendly but not overpowering. Our children were welcomed, with a choice of half sized al a carte mains or as they chose, a thoughtfully written little snappers menu. The food was a treat, excellent value for money. We hope to squeeze in another visit before we trek back home. Thank you Trewithen.

We were a little nervous on entering this restaurant as we had ours boys, who are 7 & 4 with us. However, once seated and provided with colouring and a children's menu our hesitation was quickly dispelled. The children were welcomed and well provided for, and we were able to relax and enjoy our meal, as the boys were happy and occupied. The food was fresh and delicious; and the service excellent. The menu was interesting and reasonably priced for a two or three course lunch. There was a fantastic and extensive choice of ice creams and sorbets for dessert, as well as other homemade desserts. We will certainly return at a later date. This was a fantastic find and somewhere we would love to dine at again.
