One night stay during the worst storms in living memory but felt safe and comfy in this Victorian house on the hill. Amazing original coloured floor tiles in hall, and colourful cushions, carpet, curtains bedspread etc in bedroom, all clashing with each other, colourful but not restful on the eye!
Very friendly hosts, with local maps & info provided. Big comfy bed, big fluffy towels, generous toiletries and hospitality tray, old fashioned wing back chairs looking out of first floor window over town, good breakfast cereal, nuts & tea selection.
Did not like curt note in bathroom telling you to turn the light off as connected fan keeps guests of other rooms awake; should either put dampner on fan or provide second light not connected to fan. Awkward placement of corner shower over bath meant a quick shower which was a shame as generous toiletries in large bathroom provided.
Also did not like having to book breakfast time slot the night before and deciding what wanted to have for breakfast, B&B was not fully booked so don't see reason for that.
Very limited parking in tight spot on very steep hill, if concerned then book parking space when book room if possible.More
