“Best Place to Stay in Cornwall”
Reviewed July 9, 2013

We have stayed here many times since 1993 in both the apartments contained in the Moanor house as well as in the Lakeside Villas. All have been of high quality. This year we stayed in Lakeside Number 3 (there are 4 in total). This has just been refurbished throughout, nice new decor, furniture and crockery and bathroom suite. It has a sauna should you want to use it. The balcony is a lovely spot to sit and soak up the sun and to listen to and watch the wildlife.

The grounds are well kept, no litter and slope down to a lake stocked with carp up to around 10lb and lots of small roach and rudd. No need for fancy baits, just use a cheap loaf of bread and you'l have great fun with the hard fighting good condition carp.

There is a tennis court and a walk through the grounds and woodland to enjoy.

The Village Inn at the end of the drive serves good food and is reviewed seperately on Trip Advisor.

One niggle is the extra charge for electricity, I can understand why with electiric storage heaters and a sauna as some people may choose to abuse it but it is still a niggle. Perhaps the owners should include the the 1st £20 worth of electricity and charge any excess.

I will be booking to go back in the Autumn so it says it all really, if it was bad I wouldn't return.

My husband and I stayed at Rosecraddoc Manor over Easter and had a great time. The grounds are wonderful with a lake, waterfall, tennis court and pub serving food just minutes away. The location was great within easy access of Looe which we loved. We also met the owners and they were lovely friendly people and couldn'tdo enough for us. We will return.

A return visit to Rosecraddoc for us to welcome in the New Year with family and friends, and we already know we'll be back again to wave goodbye to 2013 and see in 2014!
We stayed in Lakeview Villa #2 which was lovely accommodation and very comfortably slept our party of 3 adults and 3 children. We kept the electric heaters on low in the villa most of the time as we had cold, wet weather during our stay. I can't recall now how much our electric bill was at the end of our 4 nights, but I don't recall us thinking it was overly expensive for the amount of time we had the heaters on. Other friends/family stayed in the manor apartments, and also across the road at the holiday village, and all were happy with their accommodation.
The grounds at Rosecraddoc are beautiful and well kept. The lake was a huge hit with my fishing mad nephew, and the woodlands around the manor made for lots of muddy fun and walks to explore the surrounding area.
Rosecraddoc is also ideally located for a day trip to the Eden Project (look out for the giant bumble bee!) and a (wet and windy!) walk on the beach at Looe followed by the obligatory Cornish cream tea.
The Village Inn was great for those nights when we couldn't be bothered to self cater. The food was tasty and reasonably priced - our group booked a curry night one evening which was great.
We will definitely be heading back down to Rosecraddoc.

I stayed at the Riverside Villa with a group of friends for a weekend break. The property was beautiful, exceptionally clean and we had views of a waterfall! The grounds of the manor were wonderful, we had a lovely stroll round the lake and a game of tennis. We were made to feel very welcome at The Village Inn bar; the staff could not do enough for us. The location of Rosecraddoc Manor is perfect for venturing further into Cornwall, with Looe & Polperro close by and Newquay only a 40 minute drive away. Looking forward to coming back for a longer break!

We stayed here last May for a family reunion with several of the family in different accommodation. The grounds were absolutely stunning and we enjoyed many a peaceful walk in the grounds and the woods which were awash with bluebells at the time.We ate most nights at the village inn and thoroughly enjoyed every meal. The main advantage of our stay was the central position and ease of getting to other resorts on the north and south coast. Day trips to Looe, Newquay, Port Isaac, Eden Project etc were so easy. Then beautiful grounds to come home to at the end of a busy day. We hope to return again this year and would highly recommend this holiday.

My boys (aged 2 & 4) and I Stayed here in a three bedroom / two bathroom Riverview villa for a long weekend with another family with two boys. We couldnt have chosen a better place, it was fantastic!! The scenery was lovely, a brilliant walk through the woods allowed the boys to run around and have their own adventure. The grounds were very clean, with a wonderful lake to explore - hint to all the little ones, there are Fairy's hiding around! The accommodation was excellent, first class. The beds where comfortable and the house had all you needed. It was clean and very well decorated throughout. We felt at home straightaway and made it our own for the stay.
The location is brilliant too, far enough from the hussle and bustle to feel you are away from the stress but really only 15 mins to the local town and a lovely train ride to the lovely fishing village of Looe. Your right on the moor and have brilliant access to lots of lovely walks and more adventures for little ones.
The village pub on site offers, good value, delicious food for those lazy days and that well earned drink after all the exploring. The staff there were lovely and friendly.
We will be coming here again and would highly recommend to anyone coming to Cornwall.

We have just had the most wonderful time at Rosecraddoc Mannor. It is a beautiful place and the villas that have been built there do not encroach on the landscape at all. The manager, Ron, is very kind and took the time to welcome us and let us know which local sites were worth seeing. Likewise the staff in the 'village pub' were very kind. We stayed for one week in Lakeview Villa 2. The view was stunning and the villa was clean and well presented. It slept 6 although there were only 4 of us and there was plenty of room. Our villa did not have a sauna as advertised but did have a jacuzzi. The weather was very cold and we found that the villa was cold when the electric heaters were not on. This worried us as we knew we would have to pay the electric bill at the end of the week. In actual fact the bill was £55 for the week which we felt was a bit steep considering how cold the villa still was -although this obviously wouldn't have been a problem if we were there in the summer. We made use of the facilities by playing tennis and fishing. Both were great. The fishing was especially good and was equal to any of the carp lakes I have been to. The water is so clear and the fish are very healthy.

To sum it all up, we have thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be recommending Rosecraddoc Mannor to our friends -in fact we look forward to visiting again. Many thanks to all of the staff, especially Ron and Jan, for making our stay so fantastic!
