Higher Trevartha Farm
Ranked #11 of 15 Liskeard B&B and Inns
Reviewed May 25, 2013

It was a joy for us to stay at Higher Trevartha Farm! Kathryn made us very welcome, with lovely home made cake and tea on arrival. We quickly felt comfortable and 'at home'. The farmhouse is utterly beautiful and full of character, in the midst of idyllic, peaceful countryside. What a pleasure to be able to hear nothing but the delightful sound of the birds - and cows, of course! (It is a working dairy farm!).
We stayed with our 14 year old grand daughter, who was thrilled to have her own bright and airy room, with its own private facilities.
All of us thoroughly enjoyed our breakfasts- with such a delicious range on offer, as well as a surprise hot fruit dish each morning -mmmm! We sat around the table for breakfast and enjoyed meeting our fellow guests - who also said that they would want to return to the Farm.
So glad we found you!!

Room Tip: There is a particularly special room with a four poster bed, but we found that each of the rooms has...

Huge thanks to Kath and Trevor for their hospitality. When you usually think of a bed and breakfast... You don't expect the bed to be a 4- poster, or to have a choice of delicious breakfasts. I have stayed in bed and breakfasts all over the country and Higher Trefartha Farm is certainly at the top of the ratings chart!
This is a real, working farm... It's beautiful.
My room was large, comfortable, very clean, en suite with shower, large, flat screen tv, WiFi, Seating and tea and coffee making facilities.
Excellent.

The four of us arrived at Trevartha Farm after a 5hr drive from Portsmouth, we were met by the owner Kathryn, this is a working dairy farm so Trevor her husband was doing what farmers do.
Kathryn welcomed us with tea and coffee and a jam sponge to die for made by her that very day, everything is homemade.
Our rooms were very comfortable and homely,my husband and I had the double and my sister and her husband had the twin rooms.Everything was provided.
Breakfast is as much or as little as you want, but do try the poached fruit with youghurt, followed by bacon, egg, sausages tomato and beans with fried bread no less, that isn't full of fat.
Explore their lovely manicured gardens,( mowed by Trevor) sit and enjoy the peace and quiet for a while. Heaven.
A few villages are dotted around the area, with pubs and Spar shops. Liskaerd is a couple of miles away easy to get to and a nice few shops for a small town. We eat at the chinese restaurant in Liskaerd, third year running, but most Pubs serve food.
If you like an unhurried laid back way of life with plenty of gentle walks then this place is for you.
Our stay was a Bank Holiday break and was for 2 nights, and yes we will go back.
