“A stunning find”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 3, 2013

We stayed here in May 2013 for one night and had an absolutely amazing time. After parking in the carpark (30 second walk away) we came across the orange house amoung the beautiful quaint surroundings. Dylan and Sarah were on the beach, and immediately saw us and came to show us around. We stayed in the Clock Tower Suite and what an absolutley stunning room it was (wish we could have stayed for longer!). Everything from the artwork, to the piles of books and magazines, to the toiletries in the room are exceptional, and I cannot fault one part of our stay. The whole house is warm and welcoming and the hospitality is nothing like we have experienced before. Breakfast was outstanding (coffee and pastries on the beach before heading inside for a cooked breakfast should be the only way to start the day in my opinion!). Thank you Dylan and Sarah for your amazing hospitality - will definitely be visiting again!

Room Tip: The clock tower suite is the only room we saw, and I can thoroughly recommend opening all the window...

We stayed here for one night at the end of April, after staying in Looe for the first 2 nights. What an absolute gem to find. We are regular users of B&Bs (and hotels being cabin crew!) and so far have loved everyone we have stayed in but this was a whole new experience. Sarah and Dylan are incredibly friendly hosts and very chilled out. Our type of people, who make you feel immediately comfortable and like there's not a care in the world. We stayed in the four poster room on the 1st floor and Sarah and Dylan VERY kindly gave us the entire floor for the night, when we had only paid for the bedroom. Such a lovely touch. The bedroom, lounge and bathroom were lovely, old fashioned chic, with loads of personal touches from the owners which they have obviously collected over their years of travels. We loved that it wasn't completely 'immaculate', this is meant in a nice way, some B&Bs are so sterile I feel uncomfortable moving anything! We were so relaxed it felt like we were at home.

One aspect which completely stood out to myself and my fella, when we came in that night we asked Dylan what time breakfast was. His response 'what time would YOU like breakfast?'. I nearly fell down the stairs, most B&Bs are so regimented in their timings it often puts me off staying in them! Dylan offered to bring us tea and coffee in bed at 10am and have breakfast for 10.30 in the downstairs breakfast room. This was perfect for us as we were on holiday and were desperate for a lie in! The full English was amazing, slow roasted tomatoes done in the oven were beautiful and the bacon was to die for! Also very impressed they served fresh croissants, most B&Bs nowadays don't offer this option and for the price of £90 a night (which is the price bracket we always pay) they should be an option.

Kingsand is gorgeous, quaint, quiet and the perfect retreat from our busy hectic lives. We did the long walk to the Rame Peninsula and it was worth the 7 miles there and back for the views! We also ate at the Halfway House pub on the Sunday as it was the only place selling food and it was very good for pub grub. The scallop and prawn sizzling plate was amazing considering the price! Make sure you book though as it's very busy.

All in all a brilliant experience. We rarely go back to the same place twice, Polperro and the Cottage B&B being the only place we have returned to. But we have both said that Westcroft is definitely somewhere we would go and stay at again.

We stayed at Westcroft again over the May Bank Holiday weekend and I have just re-read my review from the first time we went to Kingsand in September 2010. It was a wonderful experience then and it has just got better and better everytime we return. As soon as we turn into Market Street, we feel as though we are home - at least for a few days. Sarah and Dylan are so constant in their attention to ensure that everything within their control is just perfect.
The comfort of the bed, the deliciousness of the breakfast and the overall ambience of the house is never in question, as can be seen from every visitor's report. The Gallery housed an exhibition by local artist, Jim Woolley, but most of his lovely paintings had not surprisingly, already been sold.
The food at the Devonport Inn, almost next door, continues to be of the highest standard, as well as the overall friendliness of the staff. The icing on the cake this time, was the Black Prince Festival on May Day in Kingsand and Cawsand, which made us feel even more a part of the local community. See you again soon Sarah and Dylan.

Room Tip: All three rooms are excellent

Have stayed at the Westcroft a number of times now, solo, as a couple and now as a family. Has been fantastic every time. Can't fault the place, atmosphere and location. Dylan and Sarah are superb hosts.

I stayed at the fabulous Westcroft gem with 7 other members of my family. We all fell in love with the place in first sight. Sarah & Dylan were absolutely amazing and not only made us feel at home but became part of the family instantly. It was my mum's birthday and our hosts made great efforts to create the best festive atmosphere. My mum was thrilled. The choice of the recommended restaurants was excellent. One could not ask for more.
Everything about this place is PERFECT and we all hope to be going there soon again. Highly recommended!

The westcroft is a home from home. Great location for walks and for weddings at the nearby Fort - stop more than a night and you can explore the coastal walks and enjoy the hospitality of this lovely guesthouse. Breakfast cooked to order with local produce. The Clock tower loft room was a relaxing and fabulous space :o) if you are driving you need to use the car park which is very reasonable and only a minutes walk away.

Thank you Dylan and Sarah - you have a beautiful place and you are beautiful people. We had only been there a short while and yet it felt like we were life long friends. We got there so late at night after a horrendous journey and Dylan helped us unload the car, carried bags up to the top of the house where our simply stunning room awaited us and then made us a fresh pot of coffee which he brought to the room on a tray. Candles, roses on the bed and on the bath, a huge bouquet of scented lilies next to the bath...dressing gowns, a bed so comfy you don't want to get out. Breakfast is simply the best in the world. This is a real diamond of a place, we loved our stay and cant wait to come back.

Room Tip: Go for the stairs...to the top of the house and be prepared to be wowed!
