We stayed in May 2012 and were a family of 6, four adults and two children.
The luxury 5 star treatment started from the moment we arrived. Jackie gave us home made chocolate cake and tea in the lounge while enjoying this gracious welcome,Tony fetched our cases from the cars for us. We booked two rooms both upstairs and all I can say is that every comfort had been thought of. Toiletries were locally made, fresh flowers in both rooms, tea and coffee, hairdryer, bathrobes, slippers, comfortable beds, stylish décor. The bathroom was a real gem, modern fittings, and really stunning I have stayed in hotels that the bathroom lets the room down, this was modern with quality fittings. We also had fantastic views over the garden and fields beyond. Every thought has been given to guest comfort in this bed and breakfast. ( I am reluctant to call it a bed and breakfast it was more like a 5 star hotel) The rooms were very clean, and cleaned everyday for us. Other surprises include chocolates, freshly made cakes, books, and children's toys. In the huge garden the children enjoyed playing on the see saw, swing, and sand pit.
Jackie gave us advice on places to visit locally, she even had maps for walkers of routes including local disused tin mines and an old preachers pit perched on a hill, Jackie also arranged a pick up and drop off service for us without any extra charge.
The food was one of the best surprises, beautiful presentation and cooked to perfection. The breakfast had such a wide range of choices it was difficult to decide. Full English breakfast, or other options including smoked salmon and scrambled egg on toast. The coffee was fresh coffee, and the fruit juice was made from freshly squeezed oranges. On the morning of departure we were offered a breakfast bag to take away with us. ( as we were leaving early) The breakfast was so good that we decided to stay in one evening and try for ourselves the evening meal menu. We rarely do this on holiday, preferring to go out and eat. I won't spoil anyone's surprise by telling you how our prawn and crab cocktails were served, but I have never seen better presentation anywhere in the world. Our other choices were beautifully presented, and very tasty putting many restaurant's to shame. Jackie has a talent and I would recommend anyone staying here in the future try at least once the evening meal.
We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and made arrangements to come back in next Summer. We found the position of Elysian fields ideal, near sandy beaches and tucked away coves. We found both Jackie and Tony very helpful, but not intrusive. We all felt at home here nothing was too much trouble for them both. They were great with our children, Tony took them both out to see the rabbits, and even walked them by a footpath to the local playing field.
Our biggest regret was that we only booked 4 days, none of us wanted to leave. A gem of a find, and we would recommend this to anyone.

Room Tip: We choose the upstairs family room because it had a bath tub in the en-suite. Which was ideal for us...

Wow what a long and descriptive review, thank you very much for the time you have taken to write about your stay.
My husband and I try our best to give our guests a holiday that they will remember. I just hope those rabbits will be out playing in the field behind the house on your next visit. I know that the children really had fun watching those last year.
Also I would like to thank you on the compliments about my food. I am not a professional cook but I do enjoying cooking. I do think that presentation helps a lot, and that you will be surprised at a few changes since your last visit. All our meat and veg is fresh and locally sourced, we are very lucky to have a great butcher supply our bed and breakfast with quality produce.
Comparing Elysian fields to a five star hotel, is more than we expected. However we do try and set ourselves high standards for guest comfort, and entertainment. Both Tony and I look forward to seeing you all again this Summer.

Hi there, I took a few days off over Xmas to stay at this guest house and had the most perfect time ever. Believe me, I have stayed in many B&B's because of my job and none of them have come near this place. In fact the place was so nice and the owners so friendly I am taking my family back there for a summer holiday. The rooms were spotless, en suite, with many surprisingly hidden extras bathrobes, ipod dock radios, bathrobes, slippers, hairdryers, Most of the time it felt more like a hotel than a guest house. I could go on but best of all was the friendly owners and a decent vegetarian menu, for a change, Oh and did I mention that it was only 5 mins from the sea.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are quieter, rooms at the front have some sea views.

We enjoyed our stay at Elysian Fields. A warm welcome greeted us on our arrival. The rooms were well decorated, clean and fresh. Breakfast and evening meal was a treat just felt like home!
In the evening a short walk down to the local pub was a good excuse for our exercise. There is also a good sea view on a clear day (and within a 20 minute walk) from the front of the B&B. Overall a great stay and will definitely come again.
