If you loved Poldark, this is were alot of the series waere filmed, it has been renovated very sympathetically and the gardens are being taken back to when they were 1st planted one of the oldest recorded gardens in the country. The Godolphin village fair is held once a year (free entry) and its good that English Heratage have kept this tradition that started with the Scofield family who lived in the property for many generations

The guided tour which was free was excellent. This turned what would have been an average visit to a Trust property into a memorable experience . The guide was genuinely interesting and gave a real insight into the property . I would love to return regularly to see what changes have been made. Atmospheric gardens and small but good tea room.

Pity the house is not open to the public more, I would have loved to look around. The grounds are mysterious with some beautiful trees, streams and rolling fields, however I would not recommend it for attraction seeking families. This is a quiet but wonderful spot , good for people who like to walk and appreciate serene surroundings. I am sure the NT could make it a more "family" orientated resort if they wish, but I like it as it is, mysterious and quiet.

Went when there was only one room in the house that we could visit. This was interesting but the main attraction here are the grounds. There was a history dig going on but this did not show anything of particular interest. The grounds are very pleasant but I don't think we would have been satisfied if we had not been members of NT and therefore did not have to pay.

This is a beautiful house, but don't go expecting it to be the typical National Trust house. It has been renovated as a holiday home in order to bring in income, so it is only open for the first week of every month. If you visit out of this opening time there is only one room to visit. There is more to do around the estate and grounds than the actual house, with some stunning walks around Godolphin Hill.
