“Warm, friendly welcome”
Reviewed July 9, 2014

Our family arrived late & hungry so headed to the town to see what was available. We had tried another establishment before the Old Inn but a member of our party thought it looked like a golf clubhouse. The welcome at the Old Inn was friendly and our waitress Georgia attentive and delightful. The food was wholesome, satisfying and well prepared. The Sunday roast was a popular choice. We headed back the following evening which was quiz nite and was impressed with the quiz masters organisation - at least we didn't come last!

“Good Old Fashioned Pub”
Reviewed July 7, 2014

Went here most evenings after a day on the beach for a quick drink or 2 and to watch the World Cup matches. We only ate the nacho's which were ok so can't comment on the food but the pub itself is lovely. With it's chocolate box roof and low beams and little nooks and cranies inside it has a lot of character and although we went to watch football it didn't take over the pub like it would in some places.
Good selection of drinks with "Tribute" being the drink of choice for us.
The bar staff were very friendly and the man (ager?) with the dodgy ties (he did pick on our hats when we went in one day!!) made us feel as if it was our local.

“Disappointing”
Reviewed July 7, 2014

Three of us had dinner here. The pub was full and we were greeted with "there's a half hour wait for food" which isn't a good start. Nevertheless we waited only to be served with mediocre meals.
This is a picturesque pub which clearly attracts holidaymakers butthere could be a better atmosphere here if they took out a few tables so you didn't feel so crammed in. I think its a victim of its own success as there are only 2 pubs in the village - however we tried the other one the following eventing which was so much better.

“Excellent Pies!!”
Reviewed July 5, 2014 via mobile

Was heading for Mounts Bay but it was closed for a private party so tried The Old Inn... Good selection of St Austell real ales, nice olde world feel with low beams and various rooms in the dining area give an intimate feel to what is a large area. The service was great and the food of good quality. The speciality pies were packed full of quality meat and are great if you're feeling hungry! There is a small elevated garden area and a lower outside area with seating, although next to the road. Overall, highly recommended.

“My brain wasn't working but my palate was!”
Reviewed July 5, 2014

This nice old pub in the Lizard village of Mullion had a quiz night, and I thought, yeah, why not?
At the end of the evening, abject failure with the quiz-a dreadful 39 out of 75-but everything else was good, from the very pretty waitress (Susan?) to the very fresh fish and chips and the thirst quenching lager, all made for a very enjoyable visit. We'll go again,if we holiday in that area, but avoid the quiz night;we're too old for the subject matter!!
