“Just our luck - no aircraft...”
Reviewed April 21, 2014

It's good that they provide a safe area to see the aircraft - you just have to be lucky to see some.

Sadly the café and airfield tours are no more - economic cutbacks.

A lovely place to watch the helicopters and fixed wing aircraft doing their stuff for training pilots.

“Do you feel lucky”
Reviewed March 27, 2014 via mobile

When jets are screaming in or out of here or hellicopters are buzzing around then its a great place to view what's going on. You have to take pot luck if there is anything to be seen as obviously there is no set timetable. we call in when passing and pour a cup of tea then enjoy a sit down on the grassed area or have a cuppa in the car if its a damp day. Kids Will love this place when some action can be seen. There is a cafe on site and 2 viewing area car parks. There is no charge to use the car parks or to sit and view. Call in and enjoy a cuppa and if you see any aircraft then count it as a bonus

You are likely to see Sea Kings,Merlins and fixed wing aeroplanes like Hawks and Jetstreams. There are also some harriers that are being mothballed. The coach tours have stopped and the Merlin cafe' has closed permamnently.
