This caravan park is great for children. The staff is great and friendly and helpful. Been going for 24 years. The park is clean and safe good the entertainment is good for adults & children. The takeaway is nice + friendly good swimming pool. The bit I really like is sitting in the caravan looking out at the sea and lighthouse. Nice sandy beach nice and clean.

The pool and access to the beach were great. Shame that the accommodation lets it all down.

Chalet A6, three bed. Inside we could smell damp and mould. No central heating. One wall-mounted fire not working. First night we slept in cold rooms on damp beds. Duvet covers smelt of tobacco. After complaining we were given blankets, replacement duvet covers, two blow heaters and the wall fire was replaced. We were offered another chalet but it was just the same. We stayed where we were. Both chalets had cold concrete floors, no underlay for the carpets.

The kitchen needed to be cleaned; doors and floor were sticky and the cutlery was very dirty with food on them. Ants in the living room and kitchen. We did no cooking, we ate out.

No hooks anywhere for coats and towels. No toaster and no hairdryer. No Porch light. And no central heating. All the things we have in a caravan, provided for us, were not in our chalet. We booked a brick built chalet too, to get a better deal. How wrong it was!

Our chalet had one view; an eight foot hedge about six feet away. The car park was too far away. Compared with a caravan, there is more room in a chalet, but that is all. I would not recommend this chalet on this park. Stick to caravans.

Room Tip: This is a Holiday Park with caravans and chalets, so I cannot advise on the quality of rooms, as one...

We have been staying here for the past 8 years.the park is clean, safe and family friendly.the setting is incredibly beautiful with amazing beaches.you only need walk a few feet to find lots of space.great for bodyboarding.
The shop is resonable and well stocked.theres a lidl at the bottom of the road and Tesco on the way to st ives. Swimming pool is great and well maintained.best to get there first thing if you want a proper swim as it gets busy quick!
The caravans are always clean and we only had to call out housekeeping once and they were there very quickly. On site staff are always helpful and friendly. We love st ives bay holiday park.I cant think of anywhere id rather be right now! As with most id like to see the accommodation cost drop to make it more affordable.give this place a go, much better than the big commercial companies.Cornwall has something for everyone.

We have been to St Ives Bay seven or eight times over the last five years. Never have had any issue and really enjoy the safe and clean environment. We have two children who are quite young and so need a friendly level site with facilities for the children and of course us. This place provides all of our needs hence the repeat visits. People may think we are unadventurous but I have worked in the holiday industry, live in a holiday destination town and know what is good value and what is not.

We have used the chalets in the past mainly as they have really convenient large grassed areas outside which you can let the kids play on and supervise them from within. We tend to try and keep costs down so that we can holiday a bit more so these chalets can appear basic but are perfectly functional. We have located our favourite chalets and so can ring and reserve at the time of booking. There are some areas we would not book but that is just personal preference.

The equipment provided is of the normal standard and so may not be everyone's cup of tea. We always (where ever we go on self catering) take a decent frying pan, sometimes a toaster, a couple of sharp cooks knives and always a blow heater. And wine glasses. Everything is provided in the accommodation but it is our little ritual I suppose. We have raised the frying pan/toaster issue on the feedback cards but I guess this is what keeps the prices keen.

We had a Horizon static up near the Conservatory and that was very good to and similarly equipped.

There is plenty of activities on the site. There is the Dynamite Bar at the entrance which is a standard bar and ents. area with children's entertainment. There is an early evening bingo session then discos or entertainers. Not our cup of tea so have only had a pint in there.

The shop is excellent and it is expected to pay slightly over the odds. You wouldn't do your weekly shop there but is great for things you have forgotten. Newspapers and pastries are sold plus loads of beach things. Reasonably priced and saves a journey to town.

The swimming pool is great and allows various inflatable toys which surprised me. One area that is about 750mm deep constant then a deeper pool all with lifeguard of course. Changing areas are mixed but that is not a problem. Adequate sized lockers.

Our favourite place to visit is the Bay Bistro. Since we started it has been operated by the same people I think and is consistently excellent. Before we discovered this place we used to mainly cook for ourselves but that defeated the object of the holiday. Every other holiday camp food we have experienced has been microwaved by adolescent "ping chefs" and is generally dire. Not so with the Bay Bistro.

All is freshly made to order and the steaks are great. It has been continually excellent over four or five years we have visited. Their specials are good and portions ideal. For this location, and venue the prices are more than reasonable hence us eating there four times in a week. The good thing is before seven o'clock in the evening the main adjacent bar is closed, but the Bay Bistro sell cans or bottles of alcohol. The prices are less than the bar prices and so we are more than happy to have our evening meal with the children around this time. Once the bar opens the concession on alcohol sales appear to end and you are then paying relatively high prices per ping. However you are on holiday....

There is a magnificent decked area outside in the dunes and this cannot be beaten on a fine day. Spectacular sun sets over St Ives in the distance really do make it. The children love the play equipment immediately below on the dunes.

The beach is adjacent but the only down side it can be quite a way with little ones and with the very very soft sand it is like walking through treacle - very slow and you end up carrying the kids!

The laundrette is very good and we tend to just wash and then drip dry as the dryers are fairly prices but I do not know what the norm is.

The whole park is really clean with friendly staff and is set amongst the dunes.

There is a Lidl's just down the road as well as M and S, Next and other places. There is a Brewers Fayre pub close but the food is average, and it is very busy attached to the motel. We used it twice and continue with the Bay Bistro.

The do camping and touring too and have the static EuroTent type things. I think they also were planning the glamping igloos for the site so that will appeal to some.

My only beef is the issue of prices in school holidays but that is supply and demand. Our caravan last year is nearly £400.00 more for the week before when schools are off. Last year our school term started a week later than everyone else so was a bargain hence it was our second visit that year.

The reception staff are excellent and if you ring and try and find the cheapest/best value option they usually come up with the goods.

We may have to camp this year so we will have to see how that pans out.

Otherwise a brilliant place and I would have spent a while typing this lot up!

Room Tip: Call the reception and get them to send a map of the site if there is not one on the website. Expla...

Been to St Ives Bay now for the last ten years, stunning views, fantastic facilities, overall stay is always a pleasure the staff are friendly and helpful and the beach its situated on is vast and clean. My children love going and often talk about their holiday there throughout the year. Cornwall is a magical place and has its very own feel to it, a special place to visit steeped in history. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone of all ages.
