“What a lovely place to stay”
Reviewed October 10, 2011

We stayed at Halzephron House during a weekend of walking on the South West Coast Path. The location couldn't be better, both for visiting that part iof Cornwall, but also with the views, and with a gate of the Coast Path into the garden. Great room, fabulous breakfasts, and lovely hosts, Roger and Lucy, who went out out of their way to make us welcome, and even did some walking with us! We had a fantastic homecooked evening meal one evening, and 200 yards down the road happens to be one of the best pubs in Cornwall! We'll definitely be staying again.

We spent two memorable nights in stunning Halzephron House whilst walking this section of the South West Coastal path, owners Roger and Lucy were great hosts and could not have made us more welcome, very stylish, comfortable & relaxed with great breakfasts, we also had a "top notch" supper in their adjacent Barefoot cafe one evening (I recommend the house red !)
Highly reccomended - we will be back !

We stayed here two nights in October 2011. Stunning unspoilt location overlooking the sea with wonderful beaches either side, only metres from the South West Coast Path. The house is beautifully restored, the rooms clean, light and airy, and the beds very comfortable. Delicious cooked breakfast and one of the tastiest evening meals I've had in a long time. Roger and Lucy are kind, accommodating and thoughtful hosts - you will love this place!

Halzephron House stands on a remote clifftop looking out over the sea. It originates from the 17th century but its current owners Lucy and Roger have updated it into a beautiful modern space. We stayed in the Tower Room which has its own sitting room and sun drenched balcony. It was a perfect place to relax - particularly a squishy red velvet sofa with a view of the sea. The whole place has an inspiring atmosphere, reflecting the creativity of its owners. The B&B is just part of Lucy and Roger's Cornish venture which also has a 'Barefoot Cafe' and shop, selling a range of local and organic products, and a film-making arm. From the house you can walk the clifftops for miles in each direction, coming upon a series of coves with sandy beaches. It's only a short drive over to St Ives and the north coast. The nicest restaurant we found locally was the New Yard restaurant inside the Trelowarren country estate, about a 15 minute drive from the house, much of it through woods full of bluebells and wild garlic. It serves delicious local and seasonal dishes and the service was superb.

This B&B is really fantastic. We stayed in the Tower for 2 nights - living room, bedroom and bathroom - and a balcony looking straight out to sea. Very peaceful and great breakfasts. You can walk for about 3 minutes to sit looking at waves crashing against rocks, or walk down to the beach in about 10. Everything was lovely. Definitely recommended.
