An absolute gem of a property and location. Perfect for families, couples and groups of friends. Extremely quiet & peaceful yet near to anything you'd want in this area. Excellent information about things to see and do, also the area's history, beautifully presented and equipped property with astonishing views over the River Fowey. Also very fairly priced - shabby looking trailer rentals nearby were sometimes even more expensive! Highly recommended.

Everything you want from a holiday cottage. We either cycled or walked every day and when we got back this was a wonderful place to sit and relax. Owners handled everything 100% and made booking so easy. Would recommend to anyone. Thank Bob

Driving the last 200 meters is difficult but once you get at Cascade the peace and quiet of this small village sets you at ease. Certainly when you come up in the top-bedroom there is a wow-factor about the view. It was great waking up to the sight of that great, ever-moving estuary. Cascade is close to everything you might want to visit in Cornwall : we did St Michaels Mount, Cape Cornwall, Trelissick, Truro, Lanhydrock, Dodmin Moor, Cothele, Fowey, Polperro (nicer than Looe), Padstow, Boscastle, tintagel, Bedruthan steps.. It takes some driving and foremost walking but it is very rewarding. The house is clean and has everything you need in a holiday rental. The shower is a bit small for guys like me but perhaps that says more about me than about the shower. Strange that it is difficult to find a decent fishmonger, one has to go to a supermarket to buy fish. Luckily there are enough good restaurants to eat fresh fish.

“Stunning location”
Reviewed May 22, 2014 for a stay in May 2014

A modern property, clean, comfortable, well maintained and well equipped, on a steeply sloping site above the River Fowey in the small hamlet of Golant. Stunning views over the river from the garden terrace and the first floor balcony. Ideally located for visiting the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan, both well worth a full day. Beautiful walks available among the woods and tidal creeks of the Fowey. No shop in village, but a friendly local pub and a first class restaurant within two minutes walk. Ten minute drive to Fowey town. Very narrow access lane, but ample parking space. Free Wi fi. Owners provided clear, well-thought-out notes on heating system, kitchen appliances etc. Would recommend without hesitation.

“Golant - Cornwall's hidden treasure”
Reviewed March 30, 2014 for a stay in March 2014

Imagine actually getting a quiet, modern, warm and well equipped property rental with a welcoming owner... and then add in a stunning view. Once you've seen it from the lounge (which is pretty impressive), try the balcony views which offer all round visibility from the upstairs bedroom. What a place to wake up in..
Combine that with beautiful gardens, tons of wildlife, access to property from top and bottom (both lit) and ample private car parking space and you have Cascade Cottage. Then you also have the location. Golant is a little peace of Cornish heaven, next to the River Fowey and placed in easy reach of Fowey, St Austell and Lostwithiel. Yes.. there is a train track on the Golant front... but it carries only ECLP trucks twice a day and produces absolutely no noise except the friendly toot of the train driver as he enters the bay. This is the perfect place to find yourself with a pair of walking shoes (wellies recommended) , a canoe or even just a pair of binoculars, a decent book and glass of wine. I expect after writing this the secret will be out..darn it!

“Outstanding Views”
Reviewed January 6, 2014 for a stay in January 2014

The views over the estuary from this cottage are breathtaking. The village of Golant is quaint with friendly locals, and is a good base to explore Cornwall.
The cottage is warm and cozy and has made the most of the views, we also found the owners to be very helpful.
We would not hesitate to return.

“Cosy, comfortable cottage with breathtaking views”
Reviewed November 3, 2013 for a stay in October 2013

Myself, my husband, and our two boys aged 12 and 9, had an absolutely wonderful week at Cascade Cottage. On our arrival, we found the cottage to be clean, comfortable and the views extremely welcoming. The photos on the website are very accurate, but the view and the cottage in reality is even better. We are so pleased to have discovered the little village of Golant and I found myself getting quite attached to it. There is a park and playing field within a short walk from the cottage, which the boys enjoyed the freedom of, and it gave us some time to enjoy the views in peace. We all spent a lot of time watching the activities on the river (the tide, the canoeists, the rowers, the boats, the birds), and were delighted to see the goods train go past on several occasions. Enjoyed a lovely walk to Fowey, and travelled by car to Falmouth, Looe and Newquay. Possibly one of the nicest places we've ever stayed; cannot wait to go again.
