Just back from a fantastic week at waylands/crantock. Waylands had something for everyone. Spacious, very well equipped, and perfect setting, close to the village centre, and the stunning local beaches. Lots of good fun places to visit close by. Birds of prey centre a highlight. 3 children aged 6 to 12 were all kept entertained! Extensive garden with loads of nooks to catch some sun. Highly recommended by us. Booking process made extremely easy by the owners. Local shop stocks almost everything.

Good location within easy walking distance of the excellent beach, local shop and pubs. Good communication from owners both in booking and after holiday. They purchased a cot and highchair when I asked if these were available - very obliging.
Low beamed ceiling was a challenge for the 6'2" member of our party. From garden furniture to maps/tourist information, bucket & spade to BBQ, much thought had gone into the things that would help make a relaxing holiday. The kitchen was very well equipped with plenty of crockery, glassware, serving dishes, cooking utensils etc. Only thing missing seemed to be oven gloves - take your own - I bought some intending to leave them as a gift to the cottage but found they had been packed by one of the family and found their way home!
Weather could have been better - but it also could have been worse! Good location for travelling to Lands End, Newquay, Padstow etc.

The cottage was lovely with a very pretty garden, set in a small, pretty Cornish village. The beach is close by - its a beautiful beach, backed by sand dunes, perfect for children and surfers. There are several nice coastal walks too. The house is well decorated and cared for. Would definitely recommend it!

What a delightful place to re-create childhood memories of Cornish seaside holidays with our own children (aged 6 and 3). Crantock beach has a little of everything: dunes, fine sand, caves, rockpools, a little river (with ferry boat to see live crabs and lobsters on the Newquay side) and lifeguard patrolled swimming/bobyboarding/surfing areas. When we weren't at the beach, the girls simply adored exploring all the nooks and crannies of Waylands' brilliantly-landscaped garden. The interior is also sumptuously decorated, and the kitchen very well appointed, but I'll admit, the menus at the Cornishman and Old Albion pubs (5 minutes' walk from the house) did lure us away from self-catering the whole time. Aside from the walk to the beach (no great distance, but a little scary with two small children and no footpath), our week in Waylands was perfect!
