Parkdean - Crantock Beach Holiday Park

Just got back from Crantock Beach after 4 nights sun holiday. Enjoyed the relaxing break away from the hussle and bussle. If you are looking for non stop entertainment to keep you and the kids busy then you won't find it here. This is a great base for coastal walking or a beach holiday as the beach is a short 2 min stroll away.
Our caravan was basic but clean and had central heating, microwave and fridge freezer.
Site is basic. Small play area and clubhouse but with beach so close you don't need a lot.
Avoid the on site takeaway though. Meals are better at the Cornishman pub in Crantock Village.
Would recommend for peaceful relaxing October break.

A lovely park in a good location for a relaxing break. The staff are friendly and helpful, the caravans are clean and if ours was anything to go by, modern and well equipped.
I was apprehensive about the narrow lane approaching the park after reading some of the reviews however I can only assume that the other reviewers have never driven down a country lane ! There is another route via the village which whilst no wider, is shorter and with less bends which some people might find easier.

The park is a stones throw from the beach and village, both about 5-10 minutes walk away.

The beach offers lovely walks when the tide is out and there is a narrow footbridge over the estuary, however be warned there is no signpost directing to Newquay on the other side & we walked in the wrong direction for a while.

The pub has a small village shop & post office, a pretty church and 2 pubs. I can recommend the Albion inn, the menu is small but the prices are fairly reasonable and the food is good with the chef obviously making an effort to prepare and present the food well. We had one drink in the other pub (The Cornishman) but it has the appearance of a social club inside and the food is overpriced.

There are buses into Newquay every hour and they run until around 11.30pm a single fare is £2.40, taxis cost us between £8-10 before 11pm.

I'm not sure that I will return to Newquay for a holiday, however I would have no hesitation in staying at Crantock again.

First things first the narrow track everyone is talking about is a country lane, tight in places and bumpy in places but no different to the average country lane. Had no problems passing in the wider parts.
Caravans very clean although I had a non pet one and suspect it may have been pretty new due to the fact that it wasnt in sequence with the other numbers on the caravan.
Found everyone extremely friendly staff and other holiday makers alike, and although basic the facilities do cover everything, shop, launderette, small bar in the evenings and amusent arcade.
Took my six week old son and he was welcomed into the bar in the evenings in his pram( like I say very quiet but then I did go in October) and prices fairly reasonable in bar, chip shop quality ok not brilliant.
Excellent views from the park overlooking the sea. Under ten minute drive to Newquay, five mins to large morrisons supermarket, would definitely return.

This was our tenth visit and be sure it will not be our last, not while we have breath in our bodies. Whilst we have stayed elsewhere with Park Dean and been very disappointed in one case with the standards we met, this is the pearl in their brochure. Consistently their staff here greet you and please you, the caravans are usually new or nearly so and are usually remarkable clean. We have never been disappointed here. On site there is a shop stocking all you want (at a price), a cafe/takeaway, a club/pub with entertainment, launderette etc. It has the most amazing views particularly at sunset over Crantock Beach and Gannel Estuary and we enjoyed walks from the site to Newquay (Lusty Glaze Beach) Holywell Bay via Polly Joke, trips out by public transport to Truro and falmouth via Trellissik Gardens and really it almost seemed like coming home again. We stayed this time in a "Malpas" caravan - only 5 months old and so clean and tidy it was almost unbelievable, even so some of the inventory had been "misappropriated by previous guests we assume but, as we were only 2 60+ year olds, this was not a problem

Room Tip: All seem to have excellent views, all are what the say in the brochure, our advice is to have one bi...

We have been to this holiday park four times. Each time at Easter, we have mostly had nice weather too! My grown up children have now discovered gorgeous Crantock (so I doubt if we will get to go alone again!) The 'Towan' caravans are fab to stay in, they overlook lovely Crantock beach, you get an amazing view while sitting relaxing in your caravan. Site is clean and fairly quiet. Reception staff friendly and helpful. The village is a few minutes walk and has a pub and a shop. Newquay is only five minutes drive away and so is Morrisons supermarket. Lots of other places to visit in the area. Porth Lodge Hotel do a meal and bowling, which is a fun evening out with the family.

We’d decided on Crantock Beach for the advertised peace and quiet of a small park, the position for exploring Cornwall and costal views / location. We were lucky enough to be offered our first choice, via a “Sun” Autumn deal. We paid a little extra for a non smoking home which upgraded us to the Padstow. Although a little dated it was absolutely perfect for our needs and spotlessly clean. In agreement with others who said the mattress is skinny we poached the two single quilts from the twin room and popped them under the sheet on our bed which acted as a perfect topper. We had a super view of Crantock Beach below from our front window and could drop down to the vast spectacular beach in 10 minutes – 20 returning back as it was all uphill! A trip in to the fantastic team, in reception, would substantiate that the direct route in to the park was a little “tricky” however there is an alternative route from Crantock village with easier passing places. Thanks to Jules, Anne, Gill and all the team for a super stay – that good that we extended for 2 additional nights and we’ll be back! Do ask reception for any upgrade or additions for your stay as dealing with the head office team is exasperating and far too pricy......

We have just returned from a long weekend at this holiday park and what a treat it was. Amazingly clean kept so clean and tidy and although we didnt use the resorts facilities as we were too busy out and about they looked great. The mobile home was amazing, clean comfortable and modern we were not dissapointed in the slightest. I had read reviews about the road and didn't know what to expect but it was fine a normal country road. I would highly reccomend this park especially if it is your 'first' carvanning holiday as it is still luxiourious and modern. Really really happy and the staff were great!! Only negative matress a little thin but we took a memory foam topper and that meant it was great.
