Booked a few days here but was left very disappointed by the pool being out of commission. What made it worse was the complete lack of an apology or compensation offered. the main reason we booked this location was that it had a pool. an apology and a couple of drinks vouchers would have gone a long way, instead we got the usual "see our terms and conditions" speech. I'm sorry but if you advertise that you have a pool, you should keep it maintained.
The actual accommodation was good but the damage was done so we wont be going again.

Dear Guest

Thank you for taking the time to post a review following your stay with us back in May this year. We always welcome feedback from our guests as this enables us to continually improve and evolve.
We apologise that the swimming pool was not functional during your stay due to unforseen circumstance and all staff worked very hard to get the pool up and running as quickly as possible. We do hope you enjoyed your stay in the lodge and enjoyed the Coach House during your stay and got a chance to visit some of the spectacular beaches that Cornwall has to offer.
We do hope you'll come back and visit us again and enjoy all that Juliots Well has to offer.
Please contact me on 01840 213302 should you wish to discuss any aspect of a future booking.
Best Wishes

I booked a caravan 5 days before going to cornwall just for 2 extra nights to add on to my week already booked in Newquay because of the glorious weather we were having. I must admit I had reservations about this, but I was pleased to say the Caravan was loverly and new. It was in a great postion and we really enjoyed our stay. The swimming pool was a god send in the scorching heat, but only one problem but not the owners fault. We were bitten to death by these pesky fies/hornets. they we everywhere by the pool just waiting for a meal everytime we surfaced out of the water. It was a big put off and we ended up getting a repellant to steer them away. It was a lovely site, the manor house which served the food and drinks was nice, and the staff were very very helpful. Would I come here again? YES without a doubt but I would make sure those pesky flies/hornets were not around and next time would stay in a chalet as they looked so comfy and inviting.

This was our 4th stay here, the lodges are very good but this time we stayed in a budget caravan ( due to finance) wouldn't do this again.
Staff on the whole are excellent, the biggest dissapointment was the food at the Coachhouse, really gone down hill.
Nice place though, but would book a lodge again and eat elsewhere.

Room Tip: Lodges are great the budget caravans are ready to retire

We have just returned from a 3 night break here. We camped and used the sun voucher so only cost us £4. Thats the upside, we checked to see how much it would cost normally and it would be £24 a night! I would never pay that. The onsite 'shop' had about 3 sheleves with necessities but closed when the reception closed. We were a young couple who didnt have a big family tent with all the bits and bobs to go with it so was very dissapointed that there were no tea and coffee machines or the coach house wasnt open to buy one. When it was open on the sunday the coffee machine was broken! On the friday night we decided to have a chilled night out and eat at the coach house as we didnt want to drive...nope! It wasn't serving food due to a wedding. Is it a wedding venue or a camping place?! Hardly any entertainment, we dont have kids but thank god we dont as the majority of the time we saw the kids looking bored in the evening at the bar area. The highlight for them was when the bar man put a couple of quid in the jukebox. I have camped in much better places than this even in low season. Will definitely not be coming back.

Dear Guest
Thank you for taking the time to post a review, we do appreciate all feedback as this helps us to improve and evolve.

We are sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your stay with us. Our small on site shop does only stock the bare essentials as advertised, however the Londis, Co op and Spar in Camelford provide everything that you may need for your stay and are in walking distance of the Park.
I can only apologise that the Coffee Machine was not working in the Coach House on the Sunday evening and that food was not served on the Saturday evening due to a wedding.

The Coach House provides family entertainment three times a week during the school holidays and at times it is not always possible to cater for all tastes, we do offer a range of styles which the majority of our guests enjoy.

If you would like to discuss a future booking please do not hesitate to contact me on 01840 213302.

Thanks to the Sun newspaper doing tokens we spent the weekend here, it's only just over an hour away which makes it easy for us to get to. We arrived early evening & the staff were very helpful. After pitching the tent we went to Peckish fish & chippie for tea, we didn't go to the pub on site but it looks very nice & again the staff were very helpful putting our ice blocks in the freezer for us. Saturday morning I got up early & went fishing in the lake, only saw trout in it & caught one about 3lb first cast on pellet, was told that there might be carp also but no sign of any. Went to fetch ice blocks & swapped them with our others, no problems. The swimming pool looked nice & clean as do the chalets we saw. After a day at Polzeath beach we returned for a BBQ & then had a look at the other parts of the site, the pitches with electric hook ups were very nice & will book one the next time we go. The shower block was just below our pitch & was clean, electric points, hair drier the only thing I could fault was the water from the shower was a bit to hot for me & no way of cooling it. This site is very quiet & friendly, not to big & as I said before the staff are brill, would recommend this site very highly. Close to Port Issac, Tintagel, Boscastle & Wadebridge ( Camel Trail ) & Padstow.

Room Tip: Would recommend having a pitch with electric hook up as these are flatter.

Juliots Well is difficult to find as the are no signs from any of the major roads into Camelford. The park is set in a peaceful, wooded area. We tried to check in earlier that the stipulated 4pm but were firmly told we could not and here was nowhere to store luggage so we headed out to Titagel instead. When we did check in after 4pm, the receptionist was less frosty and switched into a better 'welcome' patter. The 4 sleeper cabin was much smaller than expected and did not seem to reflect the pictures on the website. The second bedroom as a cupboard and there was no room to swing a cat. The mattresses had seen better days and were lumpy and uncomfortable. The bathroom was really too small to service 4 people. However, the lounge area and the well equipped kitchen were spacious and comfortable. The veranda and the windows had not seen a good clean for quite a while so the railings were cobweb strewn and the veranda was covered in dead leaves and bird droppings. The outside table needed a thorough clean before use. At £90 a night, this lodging was not good value overall.

Room Tip: Check what you are booking and ensure you do not arrive before 4pm

I can only apologise that our usual high standards were not fully met during your recent stay. All our staff are on always on hand to help with any issues you may have and strive to provide the best service they can and I do apologise that you did not feel this was the case during your stay with us. I am sorry that you were unable to check in before 4pm, the team works hard to try and have all accommodation ready before this and if we are ahead of schedule we do allow guests to check in early.
I have passed on your comments regarding the verandah onto our housekeeping and maintenance team and they apologise for any shortcomings during your stay.
We do hope you will come back and try our larger lodges - The Azalea or Camellia or even one of our spacious 3 bedroom caravans. If you would like to discuss a future booking please do not hesitate to contact me on 01840 213302.

We booked a two night stay for myself, my wife plus two small dogs. We were told that we would be given one of the older vans as we had dogs which was fine so we weren't expecting much. Check in was very quick and polite, we were directed to Van 18 (mentioned in another review), it was one of the older ones on the site and in my opinion is well past it's sell by date and should be dispatched to the great static home graveyard in the sky. The interior was clean but not great, the kitchen had the basics but that was it, the TV was old and didn't work properly (the satellite kept breaking down) although we didn't go to watch TV I did expect it to work as the van is advertised as having a TV with some channels. The beds were old and uncomfortable and being an old style van the bedrooms were very cramped, the sitting area was ok as we were only there for two nights and out all day, if we had to spend more time in Van 18 I would have complained and asked to be moved. On the first night we ate at the onsite bar, the bar staff were friendly and chatty but seemed rushed although it wasn't that busy. We ordered food that took over an hour to arrive, when I asked why it had taken so long I was told they were busy and the chef has taken the day off. To be honest it really didn't seem that busy, when the food did arrive it was tasty, well cooked and good value for money.
The site itself is set in lovely woodlands with nice walks for dogs, the wooden lodges look really nice and the touring and camping area's looked well looked after. I was surprised to see other customer pictures on here of the lodges with dogs in them as we were told that pets weren't allowed, that's why we tolerated substandard class accommodation. To sum up this is a really nice site and great if you are looking for a peaceful break but if you are directed to Van 18 be afraid be very afraid.

Room Tip: As I said avoid the older style vans
