I have a complain about this property we booked it for Bank holiday weekend and we were very disappointed. it's not worth the money we paid for as agreed with both side that if we leave the property by 5 pm.
On the second day we will get full refund. We hade to leave with kids and ladies on the second day find a caravan to stay for the other two day of our stay. we are taking legal action against this property as promised I have all the corrispondent to prove the agrred verbal conversation.
I booked number 6 Dartmoor Lodge! Homicombe Manor, St Ann's Chapel, Callington, PL17 from 1st to 8th August 2015 booked through Holidaylettings.co.uk on behalf of Libertyholidaylets.com. The property pictures and description does not reflect the appalling condition of the property. In brief, on arrival property was filthy, cobwebs, grease and dust everywhere, cooker condemned on day 1, was tripping electrics and had to be replaced, worn carpets, dirty curtains, water marks on lampshade, electrical appliances had not been tested at all or for a number of years, bath leaked, downstairs shower did not work, sofa broken, TV did not work, plaster coming off the walls, missing kitchen plinths, rusty drawers and shower head, poor overall condition and sub-standard repairs undertaken, garden area full of litter, an old mat and over grown. I left after 2 days and got a full refund, When I contacted property owners they admitted they had not visited property for a number of years and relied on feedback from visitors to rectify issues. Despite this they were aware sofa had broken and failed to repair it. I was not expecting 5 star but do expect the property to accurately reflect the photos and description on the website and it to be clean and safe and it was neither of these. I would rate the property a zero and would recommend you don't stay there or deal with Liberty Holiday Lets.
The lodge was perfect in terms of size, we were a party of two adults and seven children, ranging from 6 to 15. The arrangement of bedrooms worked well for us, as did the bathrooms. The kitchen was a good size, although we did find it under equipped as there was no frying pan or anything to make gravy in....we had to use the teapot! As the lodge was intended for up to 10 people, I would have expected a few larger saucepans and oven trays for cooking for that amount of people. Whoever was supposed to clean the lodge before we went didn't change the mats in the bathroom which was disappointing also. The site was great for the children, they loved the play area and made good use of the tennis courts and football pitch. The pools were perfect and the staff very friendly. We had Sunday dinner in the on site restaurant, which was carvery style, this was absolutely fantastic, we all ate huge portions of food as it was so well cooked and very reasonable prices. We would definitely come back to this site again.
