I stayed at Polhilsa Farm for several nights. The room was large and the shower room perfectly adequate. The location is pretty - there's an attractive garden accessible to visitors, with a large pond - but quite remote. Two minor issues: when the room above mine was occupied, the loud creaking of the floorboards as occupants walked around kept me awake; and the breakfasts were average to poor.

Lovely clean, spacious room with fresh milk for tea and coffee. Quiet location (a car is essential) but this just makes it very peaceful. Would definitely stay again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Excellent place for a quiet stay. You need a car to get out and about. Great little conference/meeting facility.

Polhilsa is a working farm but that does not impinge on the B&B operation at all. We have stayed in 3 rooms on different occasions and they have all been well-appointed and very clean. Kay and Margaret serve up a great breakfast in a nicely informal way. The setting really is special, with the two lakes behind the large lawn well-worth spending some time walking round. Give the old dog a very gentle pat on the head when he welcomes you......

I found this place by chance on the internet on the Saturday morning of Bank holiday. We got there late Saturday evening. Our room was great. The view of the lake was special and all you could hear were the Canadian Geese and the Malard Ducks. The host was welcoming and breakfast was very good. It is a good spot for touring around. The Host has done a lot of reserch on local places to eat at and had information on plenty of places to visit.
We have re booked to go back at the end of the month for a longer stay
