Owner description: The Museum of Witchcraft and Magic houses one of the world's largest collections of items relating to witchcraft, the occult and magic. With over 3000 objects, a wise woman's cottage, a herb garden and a shrine it is a memorable place. It has been in the picturesque Cornish coastal village of Boscastle since 1961 and is one of Cornwall's most popular museums rated highly on TripAdvisor. The Museum intrigues visitors with its collections of charms, curses, herbs and healing and sea witchcraft. Some of our most popular items are magical tools such as glass knitting needles, objects which were used for scrying such as black mirrors, crystals and crystal balls and our collection of protection talismans made by soldiers in the trenches of World War One. The Museum also has an extensive library with other 7000 books and an archive of documents which can be viewed online or visited by appointment.

This museum is mind-blowing. There is so much to see, even though it's all packed in to a fairly small space, and is incredibly good value for money.

This museum is definitely a 'must' for those interested in witchcraft, but it is still interesting for anyone who isn't! A teenage son and husband were (almost) as delighted as me.

Boscastle itself is a really lovely village, with good places to eat and interesting shops. A great half day out!

Really informative and great value for money. Run by local chap. A historical look at the beginnings of witchcraft - how it originated as women who were travelling wise women/ mid-wives / undertakers / medicine women. Their beliefs and religious artefacts and parallels with other spiritual / religious beliefs such as shared roots, symbolism and stories.
The museum is entertaining but stays truthful and is a historical look at witchcraft.
It is sad how women were persecuted in the name of witchcraft in the past and it deals with this sensitively.
It does not advertise witchcraft or offer spells. Its straight forward honest look at witchcraft objectively.
Really interesting, not at all tacky - to go and see it - great value too :O)

We've been here numerous times, before and after the flood. It's atmosphere is very calming (for me anyway), and the information about the display pieces very interesting. Well worth a visit if you're in the area :)

What an amazing place to visit :) We had planned to visit The Museum of Witchcraft on our honeymoon and we are so pleased at what we saw, it is a truly amazing collection. We will be back time and time again and we also took some of the great nic nacs on offer away from the very reasonably priced shop :)

)O( Awesome )O(

Really enjoyed learning about witchcraft, and looking at all the artefacts. The receptionist was really helpful in answering our questions. There was so much to see, the museum is quite small, and was devastated in the flood, but has bounced back to the great tourist attraction that it is.
