Owner description: The Museum of Witchcraft and Magic houses one of the world's largest collections of items relating to witchcraft, the occult and magic. With over 3000 objects, a wise woman's cottage, a herb garden and a shrine it is a memorable place. It has been in the picturesque Cornish coastal village of Boscastle since 1961 and is one of Cornwall's most popular museums rated highly on TripAdvisor. The Museum intrigues visitors with its collections of charms, curses, herbs and healing and sea witchcraft. Some of our most popular items are magical tools such as glass knitting needles, objects which were used for scrying such as black mirrors, crystals and crystal balls and our collection of protection talismans made by soldiers in the trenches of World War One. The Museum also has an extensive library with other 7000 books and an archive of documents which can be viewed online or visited by appointment.

We've been here numerous times, before and after the flood. It's atmosphere is very calming (for me anyway), and the information about the display pieces very interesting. Well worth a visit if you're in the area :)

What an amazing place to visit :) We had planned to visit The Museum of Witchcraft on our honeymoon and we are so pleased at what we saw, it is a truly amazing collection. We will be back time and time again and we also took some of the great nic nacs on offer away from the very reasonably priced shop :)

“Fascinating”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 14, 2012

Really enjoyed learning about witchcraft, and looking at all the artefacts. The receptionist was really helpful in answering our questions. There was so much to see, the museum is quite small, and was devastated in the flood, but has bounced back to the great tourist attraction that it is.

“Fascinating collection - well worth a visit”

Really interesting collection of all things witchy at a very reasonable entrance price. Displayed in themes with a good deal of historical background. You could spend many hours here but maybe not for kids. Found the flood levels marked on the wall also interesting and pleased to see many items have survived this near disaster.

“Still amazing!”

I have been coming here for years and every time I do I see something different. It's a beautiful and amazing little museum and full of buried and ignored culture. We took my partners boys to see it and although they are young and didn't understand some of it they enjoyed it. They have done an amazing job of caring for the exhibitions after the flood and Graham and his team are always welcoming. Thankyou again Sir and blessed be x
