Just returned from a two night stay at "The Welly" and cannot praise it highly enough. The staff are so friendly and accommodating, the standard of cleanliness is second to none, the rooms have everything you could want and the breakfast is beautiful. With over 6 choices on the menu there is something for everyone. We also sampled the bar food one evening, and again everything was spot on. Great value for money. There are gorgeous little nooks and crannies everywhere to explore and you get a real sense of what a historic and important little place this has held at the heart of this beautiful village. Will definitely return if I am lucky enough and thanks again to all who made our stay so unforgettable.

We enjoyed bed, breakfast and evening meal. Complimentary tea/coffee on arrival. We had a sumptuous fillet steak followed by very generous locally produced cheese board. We sampled the full Cornish and Vegetarian breakfast - not at all greasy as somebody had posted. Would certainly return.

We spent a weekend at this hotel and can't recommend it highly enough. Very friendly, comfortable (especially the beds), clean and the food is outstanding. Would definately visit this hotel again.

Room Tip: Not really worth paying extra for the deluxe rooms, our daughters had a standard and apart from bath...

Went to Boscastle for a short three night break in late Aug/early Sep 2011 and stayed at the Bottreaux (see review elsewhere). However, we were staying on a B&B basis so needed to find somewhere to eat in the evening. After sampling The Cobweb the first evening, we decided to try the Wellington. We enjoyed the food and drink so much that we came back again for more on the following evening. The meals that we had (main courses and sweets, didn't try any starters) were excellent as was the draft Guinness. The service also, was of a high standard. We would definitely go back to the Wellington for food and drink again if the opportunity arose.

My wife and I stayed here in one of the Turret Rooms. The hotel was easy to find, affordable, clean and spacious and the service provided by the staff was very good.

The only things that would make this hotel even better would be;

* Offer of porter service to take luggage to the room (I'm sure this could have been arranged, but it should have been offered at check-in)

* The Waterloo restaurant needs a drastic make-over. The decoration is now dated and their attempt at a 'contemporary feel' to the room has not been done very well. Instead the room comes across as cold and unwelcoming.

* The breakfast choice menu needs to be expanded

Apart from these minor things the hotel is slap bang in the middle of town and provides an excellent base from which to go about your stay. The local tea shops and restaurants ensure you are never hungry !

Our stay at The Wellington Hotel was for one night only but we wished we could have stayed longer. The hotel is in a prime spot set just back from the main road but still in the town and walking distance from the harbour.

We were given a very warm welcome and our room, Room 16, The Guy Gibson Turret Room was wonderful. The hotel is full of character and our room was lovely - very large with a really comfortable bed. The bathroom was very clean and the water lovely and hot. The selection of toiletries and tea/coffee were excellent. Although the floor sloped and the windows rattled, this only emphasised the character and atmosphere of the whole place.

We had a delicious dinner in the bar and the breakfast was lovely too. The Tribute Ale was very, very good!!

The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

We would definitely stay at this hotel again. It's in a beautiful location and is also an ideal base for touring Cornwall.

Room Tip: Our room, although one of the most expensive, had a lovely view across the river and was very peacef...

Really enjoyed our stay at the Wellington. It's a lovely looking building, both inside and out, and we had a great view over Boscastle. The staff were all very friendly and attentive. The room was of a good standard. The only way in which I could fault it is that the food in the bar isn't great (had an evening meal there). The breakfast in the hotel was excellent though.

Would definitely recommend staying here for a night or two.
