Not the most atmospheric pub in the world, but the chef really tries hard (as do the staff) and the food was very well presented by someone who was clearly making an effort and knew what they were doing.

Nice atmosphere, good surroundings, interesting clock over one end of the bar. We did not eat but the food looked very appetising.

The food here is good and we have now been back twice. Service was a bit of a letdown but the food made up for it.

I had booked a little in advance -but no need lot of space. We choose the bar rather than restaurant as we just wanted something casual. Good varied wine by glass list and range of local beers. Starter were interesting and nothing wrong with them but a pricey for what you got. I had squid and chorizo and my partner had a cheese and salad thing. Both had the seafood linguine, it was very creamy and yet the menu didnt mention cream in the dish at all...and I wouldnt have chosen this if I had known. Did mention it when we paid the bill and said that I wouldnt have had if I h ad known...but it dint seem to be a big deal.
So food ok but a bit exspenisve and clearly need to check out and clarify what is in the food

We arrived to a beautifully presented table for twenty on the last night of the Boscastle Walking Week. The room was spacious and airy giving us chance to mingle before dinner with many of those who had participated in this annual week long event.
The Festival Dinner is always a special occasion and new Head Chef and Manager Stephen Marsh easily maintained and even raised the standard for this year.
The head chef and his team served us efficiently not just with the three delicious courses expected but surprised us with two complimentary Muse Bouches. Everything looked and tasted wonderful.
I was proud that a small village like Boscastle can provide fine dining at this level. Looking forward to next year already.
