“Utterly delicious food, lovely atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 1, 2014

While staying at the nearby Courtyard Farm Cottages, we drove here for dinner on a Friday night. We arrived very late, and worried we had missed serving time, but they very kindly kept the kitchen open for us. Had a chicken breast stuffed with brie in Parma ham and sundried tomato sauce and it was absolutely delicious. Tempted to make a 5 hour drive back to Cornwall just for this meal! Lovely atmosphere, very pleasant staff. Faultless.

“It's well worth the hunt for this little pub!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 30, 2014

Perched overlooking the beautiful village of Boscastle is this little gem of a traditional Cornish inn. The staff were able to accommodate 10 of us at relatively short notice and we had a wide selection of dishes off the menu and every one seemed to be a hit.

Good sized portions and quality food all round - the burgers looked amazing!

This is a small traditional pub, the staff were excellent and friendly and did everything we asked for. Great atmosphere, we were lucky enough to be there when the Boscastle Buoys popped in for a Cornish style sing-a-long too.

Highly recommended.

“Atmospheric Pub With Good Food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 14, 2014

Very handily placed for visitors staying at the top of Boscatle and who don't fancy the steep walk back from the Port. Fortunately, the pub is a good one which makes the decision easier.

The staff were friendly and the service good (I noted that they were advertising for more staff so service may be stretched at times until recruitment has been completed). The food was good and any offering of Abbots ale is always well received by me.

Worth a visit

“Bank Holiday Break”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2014

We arrived in the bar at 8pm and admittedly the place was very busy, but having stood at the bar for 20 minutes and not getting eye contact from any of the staff, we decided to give it a miss and go down into to village.
It didn't help that the new barmaid was being reprimanded by a senior staff member in front of everyone for not using the credit card machine correctly.

I am very sorry that you had such a bad experience at The Napoleon Inn. We pride ourselves with good customer service which you did not receive. It was unfortunate that at the time you arrived we had just had a coach party turn up which made us exceptionally busy. I hope that you will give us another chance next time you are in Boscastle and allow us to show you how we like to do things.
